Judge did a great job encapsulating suburban life with old-timer Texans near Dallas. Those archetypes are ridiculously common around here with the older crowd, not so much gen-x and younger. It probably isn't as funny outside of Texas, I dunno.

When I see stories like that one about the ex-military dad who drove his 16 year old son out into the woods in the middle of the night and made him walk 3 miles home while carrying a 16 pound rock, I am 100% certain that many people throughout history have made their kids smoke an entire pack of cigarettes all at once to "teach them a lesson (in child abuse)".
