I think I'd prefer we try out Parolo over Motta if we're not gonna field Verratti. At the very least Parolo could come on as a sub, but I reckon he's got enough pace to make up for Pirlo/De Rossi.

Looking ahead in knockouts Italy are getting Columbia or Ivory Coast probably. And then it's a matter of the winner of Mexico/Brazil vs Netherlands/Chile. Avoiding either of those second round of knockouts South Americans would probably be best.
