Transformers movie sequels have been greenlit until 2017 in 2017 the original Bay Transformer movie will be 10 years old. Gotta say the new movie actually looks well assembled, the comedy bits are actually funny and not the whole "mom ate a weed brownie and forced man kissing happens" that the other movies had. Overall I think they hang together as a group well. The aesthetic works.

I can't recall who was looking for GDO Brawl, but TFSource has a 4-pack of him, Sandstorm, Laserbeak, and Deadend for 80 bucks. That's steep just for Brawl, but all of those figures are great, plus you can make Laserbeak into Brawl's flight armor.

BBTS Has Legends Cliffjumper and Nemesis Prime preorders up. Expect Nemesis Prime to probably be colored as RID Scourge(not that there's a big difference anyways) he comes with a helicopter partner who is not RID themed though. It's Spinster and there's a real good chance he will resemble G1 Spinster in colors.

I'm seeing a ton of "high quality knock off" Masterpiece Sideswipes in eBay for like $35, does anyone have one of those and can comment on the quality? Generally speaking, "high quality knock off" seems like a contradiction when Transformers are concerned.

Yeah those things are weird. They're apparently actually are good quality, good enough to pass for a real one to most people unless they know where to look(mispelled logos mostly iirc). Speculation I've heard ranges from them being made from stolen or discarded molds to them being produced after hours using the actual molds/production line.

If the Sideswipes are anything like the KO Red Alerts (and I'm betting they are) they're decent. Mispelled logos, paintworks a bit shoddy but barely noticeable, slightly floppy knees on mine and a head that doesn't close all the way, but I'm happy with it for the ~£25 I paid. I would imagine the head thing doesn't apply anyway as it's a cartoon gimmick for Red Alert. YMMV. I thought the consensus was these are '3rd shift' KO's using the actual production lines?

I think there's some differences in the placement of the injection points on some parts. My KO Sideswipe wouldn't roll at all so I ended up biting the bullet and replacing him with the reissue.

I got both Sideswipe and Red Alert KO's on Ebay for about 60 bucks total, with free shipping(!!). Without knowing the real deal, these are really fantastic and the only problem I had was the chest lock stub being a little too thick and I had to shave it down so the chest would fit into place. Otherwise they're basically perfect, tight joints, good detailing, the shoulder mounted launcher is a little loose and can fall off if you hold the figure upside-down, but otherwise they're excellent. I really would not be surprised if they're made using the actual molds as third-shift products. It seems the quality varies a bit between individual figures and I just got lucky, but the general consensus is that they're good cheap replacements if you're on a budget.

That's the only one of these new Generations that looks bad to me though, the rest of them completely knock it out of the park. At least Megatron looks amazing, though I'm mildly annoyed that Transformer tanks always have four separate treads. I understand why, but as far as I know no real-world tanks have that. At least he's not an H-tank.
