This worked out well in House MD because Hugh Laurie, like House, actually does play the piano/guitar/harmonica/whathaveyou. He even composed a couple of songs for the show.

That kind of thing sounds perfectly reasonable to do, but from a production standpoint and editing standpoint it's actually a nightmare. Entirely not worth it when this way is faster and 99% of people don't even pay attention. e: ^^^ Yeah if it's an original piece or the actor can actually play it, go for it. But you wouldn't ask an actor to perform his role and perfectly mimic the instrumentation of some song a dozen times for all the coverage you needed.

Finally got around to seeing The Raid 2. My father said it was an awesome flick. And I have to agree with my father. I just didn't expect my father to be mentioned so often, even when my father isn't on screen. Which happens to be 98% of the movie. Sure, you're probably thinking, "stfu about your father already" by now. And I wouldn't blame you. Cause that's exactly how I felt half the time Uco said anything.

So in the most recent Star Trek movie why is Khan running away from Spock at the end? The only people who know he's the wanted criminal are the crew of the Enterprise, I mean, everyone else is fleeing in chaotic terror. Earlier in the film, I thought Khan was basically established as Star Trek's Captain America, I mean it didn't look like a team of three including Spock had any chance of beating him in combat when they showed up on that Klingon outpost or whatever. I guess Spock was animated by  rage or something, but you'd think Khan would just turn around and whoop his rear end and then make his getaway. They'd just established Khan as such a powerful badass earlier that I figured he could easily take out Spock. At first I thought maybe Khan was running off to the videogame platforming stage because Spock had a phaser and Khan wanted an opportunity to disarm him, but later on you see Uhura giving him a bunch of phaser blasts to the chest and he's handling it more or less. At least to the point where I'm pretty sure he could've turned around and handled Spock armed with a phaser. I'm not sure what Khan was running from. Is it that he thought they'd manage to beam him up if he stopped to fight and so he needs to stop to fight on a moving platform instead? Either way it was pretty fun, I was imagining the Sega Genesis game they would've made of the movie back in the day and the really annoying final Khan fight stage that I'd eventually slam my controller down and stop playing because I kept loving up the jump. As someone not really familiar with Star Trek watching the film, I was also tickled by the fact that their modus operandi seems to be sending their most important officers and top chains of command on dangerous combat missions. I mean it makes sense from a narrative standpoint since we want to see the main characters doing poo poo, but it's pretty hilarious when you think about it. SEND THE CAPTAIN AND HIS FIRST OFFICER DOWN. The ship looked like it had a crew of hundreds, I know the Federation or whatever isn't supposed to be militaristic but don't they have people specializing in combat on each ship that they can send down?

That reminds me of how there are points in movies where the character recalling the events is not present and therefore can't know what was said after they left. Or, like, when a character recalls something that was said by another character when they weren't present, or little logical inconsistencies like that. I'm still chewing through House MD and they make reference to this in pretty much every episode that's told in frame story format. Most recently, House was talking to his therapist about the patient-of-the-week, and in his story he leaves the room. He tells the therapist that after he left, the rest of his team was commenting on how dumb and inept they are compared to him; and when the therapist asks what they really said, he just makes this "come onnn  " face.And then it cuts to the real scene where they're poo poo talking how he was wrong about his initial diagnosis of the patient. I am aware of this(I've read the book and it's also mentioned in the movie), it's an issue with the style of filming used for those sequences. Makes for an exciting intro, but it just looks weird as something that can be seen as "official" footage. Most of it's in the trailer too, the aerial combat sequences.

Yea that's one thing that always bugged me. When they do the reveal of the Wayne murders it's as if Knox is revealing this unknown information. You'd think that would be the first thing he mentions to Vicky after knowing she's falling for Bruce. The Wayne murders are pretty common knowledge.

Also light pink, but even in atmosphere your first level of detection is not going to be visual. I think that would be more true in space so really more of a stylistic thing. Not a space shooter scientist though.

Yeah, in ME1 the big thing about the Normandy was its stealth systems. Which just made it so that it didn't have any heat signature, it wasn't actually invisible.

Well if we're getting specific the Haggunenon ships are described as chameleoid, so it wasn't designed to be black. Any intentional coloration would have been opportunistic at the time the ship changed its properties.

They even took to doing car commercial style shots anytime a Kia Optima was on screen. I mean, there's in-show advertisement, and then there's IN-SHOW ADVERTISEMENT.
