c two worlds 2 s: it's the middle of the night and i want to go shopping but i can't because everything is closed so i have to wait, there's no "pass time" option like skyrim

so far, the fact that the game has a day/night cycle has had zero in game justification and adds nothing to the game other than an annoyance

He spoke with a gravelly, soulful deep voice that was appropriate for the role, and gave the character more depth than could be expected. Your protagonist rarely comments on what's going on, and does a lot of violent things himself, but the voice adds some ambiguity. You can't tell quite what he thinks about the events, but at least it's clear that he's not sadistically enjoying them. The localization gives this character a high-pitched voice with a ridiculous British accent, thus making him sound like a teenage fop on crack. I couldn't bear listening to this for more than five seconds, but from what I can see, that voice may actually have done ALL the roles.

Clearly the localization budget was about $5, and a random drunkard off the London streets put the script through Google Translate, because that's the only possible explanation for how bad it is. It is overly literal, attempting to translate the original script word-for-word, and thus sounds unbelievably stupid. Some of the profanity is replaced by euphemisms, and when you hear the wooden British voice threaten someone with the line, "if you continue moving in such manner, jerk" (the original being more like "freeze, dirtbag"), recited in a completely inappropriate flat tone, well, that's it, that's the end. The NPCs' prison nicknames are also translated literally, which sounds idiotic. Basically the only way to localize this game would have been to give it to a pulp fiction writer with a background in crime and prison novels, who could make a parallel to Western gangster culture. And, since that won't ever happen, basically the English version of the game is unplayable. At best, it comes across as stupidly offensive; at worst, it is literally incomprehensible.
