And yes good god that was amazing and the best episode yet so far. All these references utterly slayed me, I think they referenced just about every anime shown on Toonami, except Bebop oddly enough unless I missed it.

I dunno, I found the episode kinda normal even though the various crew designs were great (I couldn't pick out all the references) and the ending was just something. I think so far I like the zombie ep best.

I feel like Suicidal-Dandy was a reference to Serial Experiments Lain, but I don't have enough anime-knotches on my anime-belt to know that for sure.

I didn't get a chance to see it last night, and just watched it. Oh holy poo poo. That was, quite possibly, the best episode yet. I'm a little sad they didn't make it a two-parter and spend more time with all the Dandys, but it was still fantastic. And next week looks great too, in a very different way. I think that's my favorite part about this show, each episode is something completely different but it manages to all feel like part of the same whole.

I really enjoyed last nights episode. For some reason half way through season one I lost interest and didn't bother tuning in, but luckily I caught the premier, and was brought back in. Really great, and made go back to the episodes I missed.

Now I want a list of all the Dandies and what they were references to. Possibly an episode for each Dandy. This episode was possibly more amazing than the Zombie one, holy poo poo. ...I didn't audibly laugh except for one moment though. Enjoyed the poo poo out of it and probably had quite a bit of a grin throughout the episode. This episode more than any other probably deserves a second watch with the other VA's.

I just loving love stories that show off alternate universes and this one was great. Goku/Generic Kid's Anime Hero Dandy for some reason also being Micheal Jackson is funnier then it should be given how lolrandom it sounds, but it worked so well.Neeksy posted:How did they even come up with that horrible SadDandy Meow? Did anyone else notice how space trucker meow had really thick and white sweat on her face, at least I hope it was sweat. Negative dandy was awesome tho. And negaQTs "Whhhhhiiiir chiiick schwaaaaah" and Darth Vader impression had me rolling though. Also mecha crew dandy was totally an ideon reference. Good times.

I feel like there are a fair amount of animators that still carry a torch for that show, especially since it was also referenced in Kill La Kill to name another recent example.
