Be advised that I just sold a Cash shop hat in my stall for market research and it is looking like you can get more bang for your buck doing that over buying the Training pack with the unbound in it.

Cash Shop:

Training Pack 100 Sycees gives 1 gold unbound.
Raiden Hat 400 Sycees sold for 7 gold unbound in stall.

Do your market research before buying unbound directly from the store. It is also good practice to tear actual products out of the cash shop so people who want to keep playing without using a credit card can get access to that bullshit.

Is this a sample size of 1 or have you sold a few?

Three hats were sold for 7 Gold each.

So essentially if I had bought 21 gold from the cash shop it would be 21 dollars. I spent 12 dollars for three hats and made the same amount of unbound gold selling from my stall.

Also note that at the time I had market dominance on fashion items. I appeared to be the only one doing it.

It will be interesting to see how the market reflects this. I am quite sure I could have priced the hats much higher and they would have sold as well as other pubbies dropping in starting prices for cash shop hats at around 10 to 15 (With idiots selling at 50-200) gold when the trend begins. This is only a gut feeling based on what I have seen happen from other MMOs as well as watching the sycee trade market.

Also monitor the Sychee trade market as well. I was seeing a conversion rate of 8 gold = 200 Sychee last night making it so that if you spent 16 gold you could have bought the hat from the cash shop directly. Keeping your prices to reflect this sycee trade market when selling cash shop items as well as makes the idiots have to keep their loving prices in check if they ever want to sell anything to sentient humans.

Anyone have an issue where patcher.exe constantly crashes at connecting to server? I seem to be able to get on once or twice, but after that it constanly crashes until I reset my computer. Doesn't lock up the system or anything, just kind of annoying to have to reset.

And here i am, still unable to pick on a friggin main school to join. Now working on Emei and Zephyr.

So far research (1-20) show that splendor and sun and moon play very similar. S&M (hue hue hue) showing a little more utility and survival while splendor having more damage.

There is something pleasantly simple and elegant in Splendor skill set. You activate the skill, put the pointy end in the opponent and it die in a few moves, repeat as necessary. Quite different from Harmony having to manage charging time and keyboard mashing or 5venoms dozen of multihit for small damage skills.

I see very few Infinity players around. From the write up they seem rather hard to play, especially in PVP but does anyone care to supply more info about them ? I have yet to create a 4th account to try them out and maybe i could save myself the trouble if most agree they are sub-par.

Infinity seemed pretty drat good when I played them, you just need to have good fast decision making because their powerful abilities are tradeoffs. You need to decide if you're going to tap the button and do ranged damage with a low cooldown, or hold the button hoping your opponent hits you to set up a counter attack. If they don't hit you however, you just do the ranged attack but with something like a 30 second cooldown. You do have to get them to 40 to see them be really playable in 1v1 situations. They don't get a grab, acupuncture that isn't a counter, or any gap closer until 40. Their biggest issue is just straight up damage. Their burst is significantly less than Harmony, Sun Moon, or Splendor, which can suck because you want it to be more rewarding when you trick somebody into hitting your counter attack.

40 really changes how so many of the classes work. S&M style 2 is basically AoW Beggars, with a long, in-close high-damage combo. S&M style 3 is still a very damaging, very chained combo, but it's a lot different to pull off.

Infinity performs very well in arena 1v1 pvp. From what I have seen they seem to focus on a array of counter skills that trigger when being attacked as well as some good cc. Some goons are rerolling away from Infinity because they disliked how they performed in group pvp (This is just demographics and should not reflect what you people like and dislike or how good you jerks are at your class).

On that note I will be attempting to get a guild war Show of Force event in every day so people can get the hang of how to perform in group combat guild vs guild pvp. From what it looks like the big group pvp school is shaolin along with some great effects from ranged schools like Zypher, Tong, Wu Tang and Emei for Damage Aoe and Aoe CC effects with drop heals that are quite useful from Five Venoms and aoe heals from Zypher and Emei.

I have yet to hear about performance in large group combat from Harmony, Splendor, Infinity, and Sun and Moon. Each school seems to favor different playstyles in pvp so in the case of the ones I just listed they are normally regarded as great 1v1 pvp schools but as I have said I am waiting to hear back from players of those schools as to how they feel about their school's function in guild pvp.

The few guild wars we have particpated in we are seeing a normal trend in zerg attacks with large scale aoe CC effects. The prime issue right now with CC effects is that in the closed beta there was a utility skill given to all schools that used focus to break CC effects and give CC immunity for a small timeframe. When this comes back or if this comes back it will change a great deal of the current state of affairs in pvp combat. The CC effects right now can cause a 100% lockdown on a player in group pvp combat.

Also some more loving around with guild wars needs to be done because as it stands a attacker can only bring a set amount of players in with a handful of players sneaked in where as the defenders appear to have their whole guild allowed to defend. 100+ vs 36(ish) is a loving shooting gallery.

Zephyrs in group PvP is kinda weird. You expect looking at the class that they'll be very ranged since the first and second set have ranged spams, but there are actually a limited number of ranged damaging abilities. They're more Musclewizards than actual wizards, since most of their stuff is medium and short ranged fire kicks and fan slaps. This is problematic because our defense isn't great. What they CAN provide is...

1) A ranged AOE freeze with a short delay when they set it down. Frost Trap. Makes enemies frozen. Pretty neato.
2) Heals. When you see a Zephyr dancing, if you need HP stand near them and enjoy the forbidden dance. It will heal you.
3) A ranged AOE damaging root. The hailstorm. The biggest problem is it's channeled, so people will see you doing it and focus fire you.
4) A ranged damaging skill that pushes people away from it. Very long range, decent for sniping and shoving Wudang out of their loving circles.
5) A ranged damage and snare. Pierces and is also pretty long range.

That's about it. We can provide some ranged control, and healing, but our ranged damage isn't great. Most of our real damaging abilities are close range, so we can use that in small group PvP but going balls deep in guild wars is going to result in a dead fan man.

You can be a total dick with them too by casting the counter-ready, and cancelling it quickly with block, then going back to counter-ready (your skill doesn't go on CD).

And maybe I just suck, but I can't burst very hard with Harmony. Compared to Splendor, Harmony's burst seems pretty low.

EDIT: For harmony, basically I do death phase into silent flash, into the two ghost march skills (the one where a dude drops from the sky, and the line knockup). The issues I've had is that the knockup seems pretty unreliable, and not sure how to follow up on the knockup.

Honestly, Wu-Tang seems really, really effing strong. Good AoE cc, great tank capabilities, good damage too. Wu-tang is probably one of the hardest classes to deal with in 1v1 arena.

This sound like a tank (Shaolin, Wu-Tang) war. Hold the line advancing slowly while force multiplier (emei) and Artillery (Zephyr, Tong, 5V) do the real killing as regular infantry (Splendor, S&M, Harmony, infinity)is unable to really contribute.

Would it be fair to assume that the original design paradigm was to have the "dps" school (S&M, Splendor, Harmony) being able to neutralize the long range casters but something went wrong due to too much CC ?

Infinity as stated by others do really well in 1v1 Pvp. In mass Pvp (guild wars) they do jack poo poo. Unless you enjoy sitting back and shooting one of your 3 ranged attacks you're not accomplishing anything. If you try to use a counter to cc opponents, it will take you right into the middle of their group where you will get cc'ed/AOE'd to death. Infinity are not tanky enough to go in that close. If you want to do that I'd suggest rolling a shaolin.

^^^^^Harmony/Splendor/S&M have thier roles in guild Pvp. A S&M can pull people out of the line into the group. From what I experienced I group arena, Splendors jump anyone out my themselves or pulled out incredibly fast. Basically if you find anyone out by themselves or pulled out, you can close the gap with one of your many charging moves and deal a lot of damage in a short amount of time. I suspect harmony would do the same since both classes have some of the highest single target damage.

So far at level 52 there is no such thing as PvE tanking, it's not really possible to have conventional MMO tank threat generation with the tools we currently have at our disposal. Not sure if this will change at higher levels, but that's now. In the instances I've seen, a Wutang's role is to deal (high) AoE damage while herding mobs together with their strong CC pulls.

Wutangs own and as "tanks" they can deal shitloads of damage too, so don't worry about that, but if you want to be a unique snowflake they are by far the most popular class in the guild. Once I get to making an alt, I'm going Infinity.

e: If you want to pick a utilitarian guild PvP school, I think we've been complaining the most about Shaolin and Tong, neither of which are too represented in Goontang. They really ruined our day when we were attacking United's guild base.

Make sure you're always using Z (or whatever your meditate key is) to vacuum up stat orbs. The blue is Chi, the red is Health and the yellow is Focus. What you used was a focus attack, built very, very slowly by causing damage and much faster by sucking in yellow orbs. Unfortunately yellow orbs mostly only appear in dungeons/instances, triggering your Focus skill in open world is unlikely.

Firstly, do your 3 kidnaps a day thing. They're very easy and you can rush through them, giving you decent experience and guild contribution. There is a small chance of gaining a better-than-white torture tool when you finish one of these.

In the guild hall, next to the torturer, you should see a bunch of kidnapped travelers. These are stock NPCs. Near them are various intractable objects which will give you a white torture tool to use on them. This should be your second choice, as you typically (always?) get white confessions from them.

Your first choice should be the higher quality torture tools. There's no limit to how many confessions you can earn a day, but you can only use three (or rather, hijack three times). To increase the odds of a good confession, you want to kidnap the NPCs you find in the open world. A NPC in the guild hall (forgot which) sells kidnap bags for 1 guild credit each. Use them on the world kidnap targets, which will put them in a bag which you have to bring back to the guild hall, to a NPC next to the one that gives you the kidnap missions.

Once you bring in a NPC you kidnapped, he will show up in a cage and you can then torture him for a confession. Combine high quality NPCs with high quality tools for best results.

Also, if you aren't getting any good tools, just find a goon who is. We can only do 3 hijacks a day and there's no drawback to bringing 5 people with you. Eventually you will be able to repay the favor.

There's currently a display bug with the focus bar. You see that bar below your character portrait? That's your focus bar. It only starts showing your focus after you hit level 40. You can still earn focus, but it gives you no feedback that you're doing so until it's almost full, at which point you can use your focus skill.

As mentioned, you rarely get to max out your focus. I only see it frequently when botting.

Has anyone done PvP cart raiding, by the way? What I think I know is that isn't limited by the 3/day rule, much like open world kidnapping. How does it work exactly, can we just attack and kill the escort's team leader to get to raid the cart? Does this cost infamy? Can we have multiple teams doing this to a single cart? I was thinking positioning a group of six to keep watch of six zones' cart departure points might result in us finding plenty of carts to raid around prime time. Idly dick around until someone finds one, gather up, kill poo poo. Maybe you can grind some mobs on the road while waiting.

If they offer similar (or better!) rewards to NPC hijacking, a good cart raiding setup might be a great way to get guild credit/development/gold/XP, everything we want basically. And instead of six-manning mobs you could easily kill solo, you get to kill people. This is while leveling is getting tougher and tougher thanks to mirage/vermin portals being in such short supply.

As feeling of "Now for something completely different" goes, E'mei really make a jump in fun and power from level 20 onward. You go from a meek, solar/heat themed selection of 2 ranged attack, one AOE, a debuff and 2 heal to "I will rip your eyes with my dark energy infused nails" fighting style involving teleports, tons of bleed damage and 4 (yes four) options of different basic attacks causing either bleed, block break or pushback.

Combined with the instant heal and the skill causing acupuncture status to every target along a line and other choice of debuff including your pick among slow, stop and more bleed i can see why this school get featured so much on the leader-board and ranking charts.

Those are definitely not the nice "We heal the sick and help the poor" nuns of AoW.

Personally i cant stand it. My muscle memory want to interpret what it see as a 3DFPS and play it like Dynasty warrior but the game clearly don't allow this, rooting you in place each time you use a skill, resulting in a clunky experience. I find it also very difficult to evaluate skill range with this control scheme, resulting in either wasted group nuke opportunity or too much aggro.

The constant "i need my cursor for this" just make it worse but that may be just me.

Also i cant play Tong for poo poo, taking forever to kill the first boss since the ranged skills land where the target was when you trigger, not tracking to fire where the target is when the animation start.

I find it also very difficult to evaluate skill range with this control scheme, resulting in either wasted group nuke opportunity or too much aggro.

The constant "i need my cursor for this" just make it worse but that may be just me.

This is the same experience I had with the Action set, in addition to the fact I can't use it with no inverted Y-Axis option. That said, I'm using the Swordsman Classic controls or whatever it is, with the click to move disabled so it's a bit of a hybrid between the two non-action modes. I'm only like level 16 though, so who knows if it'll hold up when I get to stuff that takes skill.

Holding shift will toggle a sort of action mode recticle aiming jobby, I find it very useful while playing Tong, for the things like flamethrower that are clunky otherwise.

Dropped Ziltmar from guild, applied again as Ziltmoro.

Whoever said that this was the WoW to Wushu's Everquest hit the nail on the head.
