Typically if you eat a squid you're not swallowing the tentacles whole, you're eating chunks of them. If the tentacles are big enough to clog your throat you're not dieing because you ate squid, you're dieing because you don't know how to chew your food properly.

In general, the suckers on the arms and tentacles of squid are much smaller. Chard posted:
Neither can I. I enjoy both octopus and squid, but they are EXTREMELY chewy. Even when cooked, it can take quite some time to chew through a large chunk. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to eat one live.

Why would you eat an octopus as long as you have money for literally anything else?
