Now that you mention it. The Mii's seem to take a lot of moves from the other fighters, and the figher Mii looks like he has some C. Falcon moves which is pretty sweet. That might ease some of the people worried about Falcon not returning.

It would make a great assist trophy. Something like you use it, and then a random number of ducks fly off from random places on the stage that do damage if they hit but anyone can attack and destroy them. If any/all the ducks get away, though, the dog pops up and laughs and everybody (except maybe the user) is stunned for a few seconds.

Tripping doesn't fit in a culture that values winning and being in control over experiencing new things and overcoming new problems. This is why I love it. Tripping forces the players and the spectators to remain on the edge of their seats all the time, watching and wondering if something "unfair" is about to happen, and what that will lead to. Tripping just means you can't just follow a series of recipes from the "How to win at Smash Bros" cookbook. It means you have to be ready for anything.

It's really just more stupid tummyfeels gaming journalism like most of the poo poo that comes out these days. I have no beef with someone explaining why they like something, or dislike something, but it seems a lot of these types of things are just taking what you see on a stream or read on a random forum post as gospel about a community instead of actually talking to a variety of representatives from it. It's incredibly easy to write since it involves no actual research, and the target demographic eats it up. This particular topic is just even more stupid, since it's "political" and people can nod along and enjoy their similar tummyfeels getting reinforced in writing.

Personally, I prefer games that give me the opportunity to safely practice dealing with a flawed, unfair world and an even more flawed, fallible person (myself) than games that work to provide a perfect fantasy where I have total control and predictability. If that's what I was looking for, I'd just play Checkers. It's got the best balance, responsive controls, and is 100% free of unfairness.

That's exactly why it's so boring.

I don't know how to tell you this, but Checkers wouldn't be able if there was a 1/100 chance of someone randomly slapping a piece off the board.

He's saying that human error (execution, emotion, etc.) cause unpredictability already, and that the author seems to think that without forced randomization you can simply execute your gameplan with 100% accuracy all the time and there's no surprises.
