I don't remember this spider-tank, for some reason. Anybody have a link to when we last saw this thing? You'd think I'd remember a spider-tank.

We never saw it, but 'constructs' were mentioned and compared to Uaid. Toma also said he wanted some next time he went up against the Red Berry Boys, I think.

I have to say, of any moment in this comic, what's going on right now actually seems like the most touching to me. This is really the nicest guy in the entire comic, even nicer than Duane at his nicest. He barely knows this guy, who would have been fine being told 'okay fine then just step aside', and yet...

They have Duane in one place and he's complacent. Mission Accomplished? It's been a while since I've re-read the comic but is Stockyard correct about Duane going feral at night? The only time I remember him being either deranged or zombie-like once or twice and they were both the result of trauma he experienced.

They're meant to stay there till morning but Sette has been using the blood vial thing to move him on further into Cresce.

Ok, I remember her using the Vial a couple of times but I don't remember any "night" sequences with Duane and Sette.

Yeah, we don't see it directly because the fact that she's been making Duane walk at night isn't something we're supposed to know right away. Which is extra-funny when you re-read the first chapter and see how Sette is all WHO NEEDS MAPS ANYWAY HAR HAR WE'RE NOT LOST. She's not just being an overconfident jerk, she's actually intentionally deceiving Duane!

Duane's soul (well, it looks like it anywho) returns to the khert during the night for some reason, and is somehow still connected to his "body" via some weird soulthread or whatever you want to call it. This means during the night his body is this nice big empty vessel held together by flesh-eating plod magic and is a ghost magnet.

I also started re-reading the comic and remembered that biting off fingers isn't something new with Sette.

Now that we're back: Sette is still conflicted about what she's supposed to do and feels bad about either option

She's pretty much boned. She can either turn over Duane which will make her sad now that she realizes he's a person, or she can tell Duane and leave with him or split otherwise and likely not be able to go home. My option would be "have Duane literally kill everyone involved in the deal and then blame the whole thing on Stockyard and co. bringing the heat from the peaceguard on themselves when you get home to Nary", but that doesn't help Duane.
|
# ? Jun 26, 2014 18:49 |

Sette won't come clean because that would mean partly admitting to herself (and worse, Duane) that Nary doesn't regard her as highly as she'd hope. I have no idea where things are going to go from here but I hope that something bleeds.

Oh man, that 2nd to last panel... I don't think there's even a slight chance of Duane being handed over, unless it's part of a ruse, but I'm pretty excited to see where this chapter goes.

In which Sette comes to a decision. Best part is Knock-Me-Down's face in that last panel. "I LOVE THIS CHILD"

In which the lizard is a wizard. Cutter was just sort of comical at first but oh boy has he gotten unsettling over the last week. Even worse, there doesn't seem to be much to keep Stockyard from setting sail tonight.

Mind-blowin' revelations. If we need a candidate for the ringleader of this brewing palace coup - well, right now, we only know one person in the palace besides the queen, and Lady Emne is already being set up as something of an antagonist. Just sayin'... e: Another good candidate. (Do we know any more about him?) e2: t'bloody his hands... PleasingFungus fucked around with this message at 19:50 on Jul 18, 2014 |

So the first silver is being smuggled into the palace in order to wipe out the queen and her socialist system, with the convenient side effect of being scapegoated on Alderode and likely igniting an all-out final war against them? Didn't see that one coming.
