Longer, wider and taller than a PT Cruiser. Wider than the current C-Class and only ~20cm shorter. Quickest version takes 11 seconds 0-60. And it looks like that.

My issue with the 500L is that they didn't go far enough. They should have gone completely balls-to-the-wall chucklenuts and made it look like the original Multipla: I think that, at heart, my annoyance with the new Mini and 500 is that they take the styling cues of cars that were really innovative and smart in their use of space, and shoehorn the functionality into the styling to fit in a way that makes them, in terms of practicality, worse than a generic hatchback.

My friends asked for my advice about a "new" car to get rid of their PT Cruiser: sounds good, so I ask what kind of "must haves" they need. "Better MPG, better utility, auto, etc., with a budget of 10-12k." Ok, well here are some TDI VW's that are below that budget, and a couple within that budg-- "No German cars! Too expensive to work on!" -- they've had to shell out thousands of post-warranty work for their PT Cruiser, as it's gone through several transmissions and a few other things. I go through a list of other vehicles, that could possibly fit their needs, but the wife's needs begin to change depending on which metric she likes about their PT Cruiser. Basically, nothing will satisfy her, even cars in her own "interested list," because the wife cannot get over how much she loves that hunk of poo poo car, as she's formed an emotional relationship with it; I understand that more than most, but I could see her husband giving me a look that relayed his thoughts: "Welcome to my hell." gently caress PT Cruisers forever.
