I can't personally comment on the physics because I have not had time to really sit down and play in a long time. However, reports from E3, coming from well known sim racers, say that the game is really good. I don't know what wheels are supported on PS4. I would like an answer to that as well though because i'm gonna claim my retail key for PS4.

Ben Collins says they're OK, Nicolas Hamilton seems content*, Rene Rast apparently uses PCARS to train off-track. (*: For what's it worth, he has celebral palsy, uses a special setup to race his Clio and uses a gamepad in the sim, so vv ) When a demo comes out, spend a while on it and decide for yourself if you like the physics, and most importantly the proxy towards them, i.e. the FFB. Their physics coder is trying his hardest to make a very detailed dynamic tire model --edit: and steering rack simulation. Around 98% of user opinions on any racesim on the Internet are bullshit. Armchair racers aren't exactly a great source of opinion, because they lack real world references, so it's pretty much like asking one's favorite color. There's too much bullshit in this community and i'm really glad goons are able to like and appreciate more then one sim, something I don't see else where.

One of the first things I ever drove on track was a prepped mx5 and for a novice me at the time it was fine. But then to most simracing people im a horrible controller user anyway, but to me assetto corsa sorta feels right to me. I'd love to try Pcars because I have a feeling that their controller setup might be a bit better than ac's current one.

P Cars is pretty good. I've avoided it for a while because I got into iRacing (which I am also neglecting at the moment). I loaded it up and tried out the BMW 1M and 320. The 1M was pretty good. I can't really compare it to my car too much since the 1M has the previous generation engine, manual transmission, wider tires and better suspension whereas my 135 has the later generation engine, DCT and skinnier tires. But the 135i and 1M are pretty similar in many aspects. It felt about on par with my real car as much as a few minutes around Brands Hatch could tell me. I'd have to drive my car on a real track and then drive the 1M on the same track in game to really get a feel for it. It felt good though, oversteer was just as manageable as in my real car. The 320 on the other hand seemed like it was glued to the road. Maybe that's just an artifact of it being newer. It seems like newer cars in the sim are either glued to the road or sliding all over the place.

One of the first things I ever drove on track was a prepped mx5 and for a novice me at the time it was fine. The car is set up very well - I'm just not used to it. The car wants to rotate under heavy braking due to weight transfer and more rear brake bias. Because it is such an underpowered car, this is a good thing because it allows you to carry more speed into the corner and brake later if you can keep the car under control. My driving style is more accustomed to a heavier, more powerful car with the brake bias set further forward. The iRacing Miata is easy to drive because the fixed setup is geared towards the rookie drivers. This Miata is set up for a faster, more experienced driver. I'd rather learn how to drive this car properly instead of forcing the car to handle like a heavier car. TL:DR it's not difficult for difficulty's sake.

I tried the rFactor2 demo and the game feels all weird. Maybe it's just that I generally only play RWD and the demo is FWD? Has anyone who plays AC with a Fanatec CSR been able to dial the FFB in to a point where it feels satisfactory? That's really it for me - I don't know what's "realistic", I just know what feels right to me, and ever since I found the right setup on AC for me every other game I tried with the exception of RBR just feels wrong In somewhat older news that I haven't seen here (or missed), AC gets some Alfa love: Alfa Romeo 4C Alfa Romeo GTA Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI Also, apparently the Kunos licensing dude posted on his Facebook last week that they have about 40 cars still to unveil?

I haven't really messed with FF for a while, but I've got AC and rF2 both where I like them. I don't think I really did much to AC, it was pretty decent out of the box for me. About the only thing I do is adjust the overall FF strength, due to the discussion a while back. I had been unknowingly maxing out my FF, and I needed to turn down the gain for a few cars. I think most FWD cars feel funny in racing sims, because I also primarily drive RWD and kinda suck with front wheel drive. I have played with the FF a lot in rF2, and I think that game has the best feeling FF. I'll do some races in iRacing, or try not to get killed by the AI in Assetto Corsa, but I always go back to rF2 because it feels best to me.

That's my big problem with AC. It's a great sim that looks awesome and has amazing cars. I just never want to load it up because the only tracks in it that I can tolerate are Mugello and Silverstone. They need some more well known tracks (or go the pCARS route and just make parody versions of them). I understand they wanted to add their home track, but people are going to want the more popular ones.

What the gently caress? I don't understand them at all. Did they recently get five wheel bases in stock or something? I checked a few days ago and it was preorder. The new 80s turbo F1 car is a hoot. Its incredibly tame for having 1250 HP. Is there any reason why it only goes up to 3.5 bar? The on in CARS goes up to 5. The sense of speed also seems greater in CARS. Maybe that's just my FOV settings. I was able to set around the same pace on Brands Hatch in both.
