"Republicunts"? Did they get the Animal Nuz guy's cool older brother to write the episode? Anyway it's spelled "Republikkkunt$".

Are you just gonna make poo poo up to save face? The conversation was People aren't their opinions -> Yes they are. No one said anything about WBC being good people. We're not talking about Bob the kinda okay guy who bought the Seinfeld biography. Reading a book isn't an opinion and doesn't define you or make you a bad person, but having opinions and views like Penn Jilette's ranting about how female comics are cunts and that the disabled are just lazy moochers and that social concepts like "laws" are insane does make you a bad person. Hiding behind "Well an opinion doesn't make the person" is for simps.

A while back I read one of Penn's books. About 90% of the book was really fascinating stuff from a seriously eccentric, engaging, charismatic guy who does things exactly his own way and doesn't conform at all. And then there was a chapter on libertarianism that could've been copy-pasted from any given libertarian blog. It's really weird, because he comes off as being incredibly unique in how he looks at the world most of the time, but when it comes to politics he's apparently the most utterly generic libertarian ever.

Republicans should not behave in that fashion." Are these "elements"... a) Publicly aired racist statements about blacks b) Publicly aired racist statements about latinos c) Publicly aired concerns that a fellow Republican senate candidate was making racist statements Answer: C, That would be Chris McDaniel saying the party needs to be purged of people who would dare call him out as repellant to minorities thanks to various racial bullshit he's put out over the years. http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/senate-races/212755-mcdaniel-gop-must-be-purged-of-people-who-accuse-fellow-members#ixzz387czN6KU

The characters are vampires. They drink blood, kill people when they aren't keeping them as cattle, sell their own blood as a powerfully addictive drug, and have lots and lots of rough sex. If conservatives are just now getting offended at True Blood, watching the previous seasons will make their heads explode.

I haven't watched it in years, but from what I saw of it, True Blood at least tries to be a solid parody of a conservative fantasy. Vampires are pretty directly portrayed as an oppressed sexually deviant minority (see the "God hates fangs" sign in the intro). The twist is that all the weirdo poo poo that conservatives say about them turns out to be true: they ARE monsters who eat people and force children to become just like them and they even have a shadow government that secretly runs the world.

Yesterday I was thinking the following tidbit might be a bit distracting or out of place in this thread but after catching up on this thread today... I saw a Pen & Teller tour show years ago where leading up to the intermission they did the swords in the barrel trick with Pen inside. He remained inside during the intermission and they charged people a dollar to come up onstage and peer into the barrel to see Pen inside the barrel. I paid my dollar, walked up to the barrel and looked in to find Pen staring back at me. In hindsight I should have beat him to death with one of the swords while he was stuck in barrel. It would have saved us all from the last few pages and it would have probably been the most significant moment in my life.

Daily Kos just did a post about the current effects of Mitch McConnell supporting Thad Cochran and how the local tea party took that (re: badly), but goddamn if I was Grimes I would be playing that card all day everyday. Depressing the tea party in Kentucky and reminding them they're propping up the head of their supposedly hated GOP-E can do her nothing but good. Even if they are playing the usual chickenshit tea party game of talking crap on the establishment and then propping it up, as long as you continually have them having to prove their rebel credentials they won't be doing much to help other than eventually voting, and they'll often be hurting him right up to that point. And if you sell it hard enough maybe they'll put their money where their mouth is and stay home.
