Fiance went to her GP for breast tenderness on Friday who found multiple lumps. Got scheduled for a specialist visit today. We tried to spend the weekend not freaking the gently caress out and doing normal things. Got the news just now they're just cysts. She's already had cervical cancer so her risk for any repeat is super high. It's amazing how much stupid poo poo we do that barely register on the "wow that was a thing" scale but as soon as the c word gets tossed out there everything goes ape poo poo. Jesus.

I don't understand how people can't. A mildly unusual one is that I find centimetres to be stupid and pointless. Something is either small enough to measure in millimetres, or big enough to measure in metres. They serve no useful purpose for me.

Someone had posted a clean R32 GT-R in the Awesome poo poo thread and I was wondering do you guys in the US get the R32s now that they're 25 years old, or are they still banned from the whole Motorex fiasco?

What interested me was that at least one of them was able to import a car that wasn't technically old enough yet (October '89 car imported in January '14). Guess it must be a fairly broad brush for the age determination. Edit: beaten by Rhyno on the Jalopnik thing.

The under-aged GT-Rs were never any more illegal than any other overseas car. There's no law on the books specifically banning JDM Nissan Skyline GT-Rs, they just got a hell of a lot more scrutiny due to Motorex et al. You'd have the same problem with a plane-jane Skyline, or any other ordinary commuter car that was never sold here, or sold in a different form that didn't meet federal standards.

UPS dropped off a box for mom. She's completely freaked out about it, swearing she didn't order it. It was a HSN box. Turns out it was shipped from a UPS store about 10 miles away (definitely not HSN), no name on the return address (beyond UPS Store). A bottle of perfume wrapped in a grocery store bag was inside. No receipt, no documents inside, just a bottle of perfume badly wrapped in a grocery store bag and bubble wrap. loving weird is all I can say. I'm half expecting to hear an explosion in the next room.

Has her name, return address was to UPS Store instead of a name. It's a reused box. She mumbled something about a stalker she had in the 70s.

Let's play a game called "How loving crazy are our parents?" My dear old dad has lost his mind. He's wanted to build a Model Railroading museum for the last 10-15 years. In his path to his dream he's passed by numerous buildings for various reasons. A few weeks back his realtor sprung this place on him. http://www.sharronrealty.com/200-E-Main-Street-a183580.html The structure is sound, probably be a bitch to heat. He plans on living on the top floor and turning the lower floors into his museum. It might even have a basement/loading dock. I'm wondering how much buttering up he'll need to allow me to use that area.

I would loving kill for a building like that for 40 grand. Around here, 40 grand wouldn't even get you a lot the size of the the one that building occupies. http://www.icx.ca/propertyDetails.aspx?propertyId=11960921&PidKey=203992818 gently caress this loving gently caress. gently caress. edit: put the train museum on the second floor, make the main floor a go-kart track. He was like I can't wait to get one blah blah blah, and I pointed out that its 25 year old car now and finding a good example is going to be pretty hard, but a good model would be a blast to drive. He asked, what do you mean finding a clean car? I just pointed out that the newest car is now 25 years old, all pretty well worn by people that will beat the snot out of them and a parts network, especially in the US, is pretty tight. He is now looking at something else, realizing that as cool as it would be, is going to be expensive to fix. 8ender posted:Oh man guaranteed that building is jam packed full of asbestos Every time I think about asbestos, I think of this. How does the property tax work on that? Over here, I'd likely have to pay commercial rates (effectively based on the potential rental value of the property), which absolutely murders you on buying a big old warehouse to use as a toy box. Though I think places of religious worship are exempt. Pile of burnt valves and warped heads in the corner? No sir, not a scrap pile, those are sacrificial offerings to the God of Speed (and Class, of course).
