Looking for a song I heard a couple years ago on an indie station. It was in sort of techno style, with girl singers, and pretty bad. The only lyrics I remember are:

Sun comes up, we can get down

Anyone?

Apart from it being male singers, that sures sound like Cobra Starship's Wet Hot American Summer.

I've had this one line of a song stuck in my head forever now and it's pissing me off:

I think it's an 80s power-ballad and in my head it's sung by someone like Bonnie Tyler, Tina Turner or Steven Tyler

I'm fairly sure I misremember the line because I've tried to google every variation I can think of without getting anything. It's very slow and deliberate with every syllable stressed except the last couple:

And I--- can't--- go--- ooon without you

Especially the second, third and fourth syllable are slow and stressed as I've tried to point out. I am probably misremembering the lyrics slightly, it could be something like "live on without you" or some other variation somewhere, but in my head the "and I-- can't--" and "-without you" parts seem right.

I know that is gently caress all to go on but I'm hoping some musical genius and/or power ballad fanatic can help me.

E: It's not Mariah Carey's Without you which is what google keeps suggesting.
E2: Nor is it Billy Ray Cyrus - Without you

Your description made me think of Mariah Carey. But since that's not it, maybe Leann Rimes, "How Do I Live", specifically this part?

Not it I'm afraid. I think it's less "beautiful female voice" and more "hoarse ballad".

Can anyone tell who made this song?

A few years ago I had a party at my house and one of the guests plugged a USB memory into the stereo with a mix album on it.

The day after I noticed the memory was still there and among various songs on it was this one and I just fell in love with that song.

The syllable emphasis matches "Can't Help Falling In Love With You". UB40 released a version in 1993 that was fairly popular.

Do you remember anything else about the song other than that line and it being a power ballad?

Nah that's it I'm afraid. The words may very well be entirely different too, but I've tried singing the tune into Midomi with no luck as well. The closest I can get to remembering anything else is that I'm pretty sure that bit is the start of the chorus and the tempo perhaps changes a bit (slows down?) as it starts. I'll keep plugging at it, it'll show up eventually.

E: It could easily be earlier than the 80s, but I really doubt it's later than that. At the moment I'm skipping through Aretha and other big singers hoping to find something.

Lol, I found it and apparently it's from 2010. Sorry for being an idiot guys and thanks for the help:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRVd0Ywr-lI

(it's specifically those 2 seconds shortly after the 1 minute mark that has been stuck for way too long now)

E2: And apparently the reason why I could never find it via searching lyrics on google was that it's "I can't live, oh, without you" and I kept trying variations of "I can't live on without you", d'oh

I DIDN'T GET ENOUGH RAPE LAST TIME, MAY I HAVE SOME MORE?
Ya'll, I've been trying to find this song for almost a week now.

It's an "oldies" song (50's, maybe 60's), at least semi popular since I know that I've heard it on TV before, and probably in some movies.

I don't think there are "actual" lyrics. Pretty sure the only thing in the song is "ohhhh oh-oh, woah oh oh oh!, woah oh-oh, woah oh oh oh!".

I think it's probably around 90bpm. Multiple male vocalists. Pretty sure theres a spot in the song where a single vocalist hums the melody. Maybe people clapping in time? I'm not completely sure about that though.

e: nevermind, found out about midori. For reference, it was Frankie Lymon "Little Bitty Pretty One"

Ok, this is a really odd one and I'll be astonished if anyone can actually find it so bear with me.

Sometime in 2002 or 2003 I went with a group of friends to a fashion show in Sydney. It was an extremely... alternate fashion show, with lots of goths, latex clothing, chains and a guy dressed as a zebra. As we were all just out of high school everyone thought it was equal parts bizarre and hilarious and as a consequence we had a great night. Now, over the years it's always been thought of fondly, and one of the running jokes in our circle is the song that played during the overweight girl wearing tight latex hot pants section of the show. It's main distinguishing features were 1. Just about every word in it was some variation of a woman saying "gently caress me harder" and 2. There was a break in the middle with nothing apart from a woman moaning.

That's everything I can think of, I honestly don't expect anyone to find it but if it rings any bells I'll be in your debt!

So happy to find this thread. I have the barest snatch of a half-remembered lyric going around in my head, and the only thing I know about it is that the rhythm is VERY close to this section:

Now i'm hitting the wall and she begs me to quit,
And she drags me to church but i'm scared to commit,

in Sixx AM's "Pray for me".

Maybe a long shot, but anyway... I'm after a song I heard on student radio in New Zealand in maybe the late 90's, early 2000's. I heard a remix that sampled it a couple of nights ago, but I'm after the original if anyone can help.

I think the original was guitar-based, and the only lyrics I remember are something like "Let the man go free. Leave him, take me."

Going to try here because the request video thread has no answers yet and it's been driving me insane for days now.

I'm looking for a music video.
It was a rap/hip hop song about a man trying to get back the purse of his girlfriend from the thief in a bar, he then kills the guy and runs away to hide in the trunk of a car.
The intro is a small instrumental piece with shots of streets coloured in and with the names of the artists on it.

I vaguely remember one of the lyrics being him lamenting "how'd i end up in the back of this trunk" or something like that.

If anyone knows,thanks!

"oh save me, 'cause I don't understand why you've chosen another"

I could be totally off base but those sound about right. Google gives me NOTHING.

A couple of times I've caught the last one or two verses of this song on the radio when out and about shopping. The chorus repeats a line something like "no I don't need this" or maybe "no I don't need class". Throughout the song there's a speaking part, one of which includes a guy asking "okay who peed in the pool?". It has an overall pop/punk sound to it.

This is probably a relative long-shot but I'm throwing it out there.

The band was a mid 00's kinda emo sounding group, I'm sure they had two singers and I'm relatively certain one of them had ginger or red hair. They had a couple of songs on MTV around 2000-2004 or so. Now I specifically remember a lot of their songs had long titles and most of them had parenthesis, I remember one of them was something like "stop or my machine gun will shoot (and kill you first)" or something similar, God this is bugging me. Someone help!

First of all, apologies if I'm just repeating things you've already found out for yourself while you were searching for details of the band.

Ok, with that said, last.fm says there are at least five bands/artists using that name. Based on the fact you said your friend says it was a group we can probably ignore the fifth one on that list, the Dubstep/Electronica guy.

Did your friend give you any kind of indication what genre the group might be considered? As you can see, two of the bands listed are hardcore/metal type bands, the third a "francophone rock band" and the fourth a now defunct indie rock band from Knoxville.

I've tried giving the three bands that have music online a listen, and sadly my ability to decipher grunted lyrics has waned over time, but the group form Knoxville (found here) turn out to be freakin' awesome, so I hope it's them.

I'm sorry that this hasn't been much help, and may just all be repeating what you already know. Maybe point your friend to the last.fm page and get her to follow the links and give the bands a listen, she might be able to narrow it down to which group it was at least.
