I'm trying to imagine something Washington and New York are polar opposites on, and Colorado is WA's closest neighbor, and Texas is far closer to NY than WA, and... it just seems unimaginable, on any sort of cultural/political axis. Unless I'm severely misreading New York, or am clueless about my own state. So it's either got to be some sort of surprising demographics statistic, or question defined by those two states. Haha that's just regular pizza cut into some angular slices. It's the same thing people eat the world over. New York pizza is mostly that, except when it's thinner and more delicious. So you're saying that people eat the same pizza everyone in the entire universe eats, except the 10% of times they eat a pizza shaped by history and location. Welcome to the world.

I'd say it's overcompensating for not having a native cuisine, then I realized that at least half of the food I eat in regular basis probably has an American behind it's creation so that can't be the case.

The pizza discussion I can understand, since there's at least a lot you can do with it (though the pizza that was posted seems to be a fairly standard one). I just think it's funny there is etiquette for eating processed rat meat. I don't buy that they don't have a proper cuisine either, it's just that they always seem to focus on the fast food. What about, I don't know, clam chowder or turkey-based dishes?

You don't go to Pizza Hut when you're a college student on a budget.

There used to be at least a couple of PH places in the Czech Republic as well, but they eventually replaced them with KFCs. Pizza Hut isn't amazing, but not bad either and I kind of miss it from time to time.

The dine-in restaurant style Pizza Huts are actually pretty good but most of them are now fast food style places and are terrible. No idea why they changed most of them but I know there's a dine-in Pizza Hut outside Pittsburgh, haven't seen one anywhere else in a long time.

And again, fast food commonly derives *from* local cuisine. Fried chicken is great, that's why there are so many fried chicken places in the South. Ditto with burritos and the like.
