Has anyone reached 24 and not done the LGV quest in Sertao? I'd like to try seeing if an underlevelled frame can get credit for that quest, so that someone can get blueprints early.

Don't bother. People are selling LGVs for something simple like 17k credits. Work the market and get a decent bike, not the trash P1 Disappointment Mobile.

Can you not sell gear from BWA? I have this necro bio rifle that I can't use and was going to sell, but it's not listable. Doesn't say it's bound to me, either. Also, what's the best way to farm Crystite? Getting credits is a little slow for me.

Is that ATV you get for pre-purchase worth a hot fart? This game looks like it could be fun as hell but I'm wondering how mercenary the F2P model is going to be and if I'd be buying something that I'm just going to get within 10 hours of playing the game in any case.

So recluse biotech is pretty boss I take it? I hope so because I've already decided that's probably going to be the most fun for me. Seems like 90% of everybody is going to be a Dreadnought Mammoth which is good and all but it seems like it'd get super boring

The car is slower than the top-tier motorcycles, but has better torque, and better suspension for going over obstacles. Given the mission type in this game, and that most obstacles are five feet or higher, the motorcycle is a better bet to get than the car. Unless you plan on playing with one other friend the majority of time, then the car is better.

The motorcycle is more maneuverable and you won't get jammed up trying to fit through the terrain. The vehicle suffers from the same physics problem as the bike, but it is much more pronounced. I get impaled on objects a lot, the slightest twig on the ground sends me flying into the air, and it is very wide for the general architecture so you have geometry issues in addition to the reduced steering ability when you drive through the more civilized parts. On the plus side you have more armor, and I've done more than 1000 damage to things running them over. It is slower than the bike. The passenger can also only aim 180 degrees forward, and does not gain benefit from the vehicle armor (but you can switch places relatively easily). It's not bad, but for the money I think you are better off saving it and spending it elsewhere.

The hilarious thing I notice about the MGV is that you can actually flip it over, where as the bike won't go past a certain angle to protect itself. Also, dismounting a flipped MGV can result in falling through the world, or getting stuck half way into the ground. I had to literally run over a squad mate just so he could "hop back in" to get out of the ground.

Edit: Anyone see if launching an LGV or MGV is possible with an enemy thunderdome?

Thanks guys, held off on the pre purchase and I'll just dump some cash into it down the road when I get settled in instead. It's an MMO afterall so even if I'm missing out with the car, another will just get released down the road

Not too troubled about the auto unlocks on advanced frames because, eh, it'll come with time. See you guys in game soon!

If you do want to dump some cash into it, the $30 starter is not that bad. You aren't saving money on anything, but it does come with a nice assortment of things. $25 for the beans and VIP at cost, and $5 for the warpaint (it is a good one), a title (who cares), and the digital soundtrack/artbook.

I dropped $40 on this yesterday, and wish I could reallocate my money after spending a bit of time with it. Honestly for $30 your best purchase by far would be $30 worth of beans to buy the epic motorcyle and then one frame off the market place. $30 gets you 248 beans. Most frames have been going for between 4k and 7k blue coins, which at the current conversion rate is roughly 40-70 beans. This is much cheaper then buying directly from store where all advanced frames cost 100 beans. You can get the motorcyle for 175 beans, then practically any frame you want with your left over beans. The vip is nice, but I'd rather have the mount. With 1000+ meter plus legs in between quest objectives by level 6 you will easily equal out the amount you'd gain from the 25% increased xp with the added side benefit of not wanting to kill yourself hoofing it around the f'ing map on foot.

Would anyone like to create a trading spreadsheet now that we can mail? I'd much rather offload any high quality gear I'm not using to other goons than let it stagnate on the market.

I'd do it myself but I'm much more of an idea-man than an actually-put-forth-effort-man...

What is the point of an alt in this game? It seems like you can learn every suit on one character. Do crafting times increase down the line, and make it worthwhile to have a second dude just for that?

It's their standard promotion. When you combine it with temp boosts (and whatever perm boost you may have) you can actually get a pretty sizeable exp bonus. It was easy to bumrush to t3 in a weekend in the old system, not really sure what is feasible these days, but even if you don't like the frame you can still grind for perks.

In terms of the frames, are the two advanced versions always better than the basic one, such that leveling the basic one is pointless, or are they more like specialised versions where the basic frame serves a more generalised purpose?

Also how is the healing in this game? Is it like Global Agenda where I get to shoot people with a healing laser? I loved that poo poo.

Waiting for launch and trying to figure out what I want to be.

The thing about the advanced frames is that they can use the weapon\ability of the base version, but not vice versa. So if you have an accord dread you can unlock the mammoth and slap all the accord dread skills on it if you want. It's not as if it is "better" in a linear sense, just more varied really.

There is a healing laser, healing wave, healing pad that you shoot on the ground and it explodes after a second or two and heals for boatloads. Aim for the biotech frames. Accord\dragonfly I think will be what you're looking for. Keep in mind mobility is a huge part of this game, so don't expect people to sit still and wait for heals.

If anything, get your Recon to lvl 10 so you can get the 10% headshot perk, it may not seem like alot, but it will stack up with your other perks later on.

1. Advanced versions are generally more specialized, they can use the abilities and weapons of the Accord frames, and then get their own specialized stuff on top. Advanced frames are just about better in every way except for perks.

2. Healing is done via abilities, if you like sending giant orbs/waves of healing light into people, it can be fun. It's not a dedicated DPS class though so you can still deal some damage.
