Not trying to downplay this, because it is really bad over there, and I feel awful for those people; ebola is a horrible way to die.

That being said, the likelihood of a pandemic of ebola is really, really low. People who are infected get very, very sick very quickly, and the only way you can catch it is through contact with bodily fluids or organs; the virus is not very robust, and outbreaks usually burn themselves out very quickly (this one is an unfortunate exception).

Someone is all the time leaving copies of it at my gym in the magazine rack. I checked once and the address information on the cover had been removed so I don't know if someone in the gym management is behind it or not (possibly, since I've also come across Bircher pamphlets in the locker room a couple of times), but it is amusing to see the scare art they use on the covers; it's only two or three steps removed from a Dees Illustration at times.

The articles are, of course, complete garbage.

I feel like they are very inconsistent from store to store. People also tend to poo poo on them a lot for not making "real wings" whatever that means.

The one near my old house in the Detroit Suburbs was awesome, and I went there often for wings during UFC PayPerView's. Sidenote: "Thai Curry" wins are amazing.

The one near my parents place was awful every time I went there. Might be a problem all around?

There is no Buffalo Wild Wings where I live now. Only one place in town even serves "wings". I ordered them and I'm 99% sure the sauce on them was Franks Red Hot mixed with butter. :barf:

no, they didn't update the place, just changed the name. A taphouse with bud, pil, bud light, rickards, and keiths. you could get a bottle of corona if you were feelin squirrelly

Bestow thine knowledge on us, Lord Ezra!

quote:

Since the suit would be filed on behalf of the US House of Representatives, Boehner will convene a group of five House leaders called the Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group. The BLAG instructs the House of Representatives General Counsel's office on how to handle the lawsuit. Its members are Boehner himself, new majority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA), Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD). That's three Republicans and two Democrats, so though the BLAG theoretically represents the whole House, GOP leadership will have full control over it.

The lawsuit will be filed in federal district court, and could then theoretically be appealed to the DC Circuit, and eventually to the Supreme Court. If the courts find the House does have standing to sue, and then rules in their favor, Obama would likely be ordered to implement the employer mandate. Theoretically, then, it would be up to him to comply — but if he refused to do so, he'd certainly fuel cries for his impeachment.

CNN in particular is pretty much carried at this point by the fact that it's the least 'offensive/partisan' cable channel and thus gets played in airport lounges and doctor's waiting rooms, and you've got to fill that time you're spending not doing real journalism with something. But the focus on the sensational over the mundane in American media has been some time in the making.

The idea of blasting cable news in a doctor's waiting room is bizarre to me. Despite being the 'least partisan', CNN is still so goddamn inane and irritating that I'm sure being exposed to it would increase my blood pressure by a few points. If they aired Fox News there's a decent chance I'd walk out of there with an unnecessary prescription or two.

What happened to the idea of a calm, quiet room where you can thumb through back issues of Car and Driver before being seen?

Is this old news to you all?

The news about the newest Lois Lerner e-mails is coming out and in it she is lamenting right wing whackos and assholes and crazies (her words) taking "us" down. From the context she is clearly implying "Republicans."

The demon IRS bitch who hates Tea Baggers is... a Republican. Was this common knowledge? Can she be hoisted on her petard as an establishment Republican now? Can we agree that this means she would probably not be inclined to act on the orders of some Democrat in the WH?

http://www.politico.com/story/2014/07/irs-lois-lerner-email-crazies-109544.html

By RACHAEL BADE | 7/30/14 1:02 PM EDT Updated: 7/30/14 5:39 PM EDT

Ex-IRS official Lois Lerner refers to some Republicans as “a—holes” and “crazies” in an exchange from 2012, according to emails released by House Republicans on Wednesday.

“Maybe we are through if there are that many a—holes,” the former head of the IRS tax-exempt division wrote in an exchange with an unnamed non-IRS official, dated Nov. 9, 2012. Later she added: “We don’t need to worry about alien terrorists. It’s our own crazies that will take us down.”

Although Lerner doesn’t say “Republican” or “conservative” in the particular emails, she and the unnamed person were discussing conservative talk radio hosts.

Lerner, through her lawyer, maintains her innocence, and the new seemingly personal exchange does not prove that she allowed bias to infiltrate her job, merely that she had a number of opinions. Earlier emails released by the panel suggested she was a Democrat.
