I'm glad they're still improving this, I remember seeing it on stream at UFGT 2 years ago I think and it was awesome. Indie fighters and fighter-like games are getting so good.

I wouldn't think that starting with j.B instead of j.C would affect hitstun scaling, but I can't do the first combo at all whereas I can do the second combo every time. UNIEL combos are almost entirely based on what you confirm with. A and B normals have way more proration of hitstun and damage than C normals when used early in combos. There are also hard limits on the number of OTGs, bounces, and stuns you can get into a combo and each char generally has a way around each of the limitations of the starter depending on what it is and the combo resources it uses. Assaults are pretty high risk with relatively low reward so you'd tend to want to j.C anyway to get the most out of it. or if you're me, do assault j.[C] and whiff.
