The official translation was Diamond is Not Crash until one of the All-Star Battle trailers started using Diamond is Unbreakable.

The next three parts mention the main characters' Stand in their titles, after all. This question is easily answered through an understanding of one of the most basic rules of manga and anime. Most Engrish titles are chosen because they SOUND REALLY COOL to whoever came up with them.

Yeah basically it could be any combination of Giorno punching the life back into him, King Crimson erasing the actual death point, and Bruno saying he dies when he wants to die.

Waffleman_ posted:Wasn't it related to that loving stupid Rolling Stone epilogue? Like it was a Stand ability? I actually re-read this bit because people keep talking about it, and it makes way more sense now. The idea behind this epilogue is saying "hey, all of these people were hosed from the start". They were all 「Fated」 to die eventually or whatever (fate being like, one of the biggest running themes in this series) and the only reason Bruno got a bit more time was because of a bunch of stand fuckery/bruno having 「Resolve」 because he owns bones. It's a little weird as an epilogue (and loving stupid with the translation) but I dunno where else you would put "a dude gypsy cursed half of the cast to die sooner rather then later, final destination style" unless you did something silly like only tell the first part of the rolling stone chapters near the start and doing the rest later (and expecting people to remember that poo poo for three years). Anyway, it all makes (comparatively) more sense then Okuyasu surviving having a giant hole in his torso because he talked to his ghost bro and realized he doesn't really feel like dying right now, especially when Josuke is specifically unable to bring people back to life (while with giorno it's just very strongly implied because you can't just stuff new organs into dead people)
|
# ? Aug 2, 2014 21:20 |
|
now that I think about it, final destination is a pretty good metaphor, because bruno is like that dude in the first movie who manages to survive all sorts of hosed up stuff because he's just SO DETERMINED to not die and everyone thinks he managed to have his death get skipped over on deaths big list of "dudes what needs to die" or whatever bullshit that movie was about, but then he dies after/during the end credits out of nowhere anyway because it doesn't actually work that way and you can only delay that poo poo for a little bit, not prevent it.
