Two weeks ago was Our Last Best Hope, last week was Atomic Robo, tonight was Microscope, next week is Dungeon World, week after is A Penny for My Thoughts. Got a two- to three-month rota going.

Covok posted:So, what games are everyone in/running right now? Dungeon World remains my go-to game for short campaigns and one-shots, but I recently started a Burning Wheel campaign that I pitched as "Game of Thrones but everyone's a dwarf," so politicking and backstabbing in the mountain holds of the dwarves. We've only played one session of said campaign, and most of that was character creation. Character creation in Burning Wheel is really intensive and fiddly, but the basic rules of the game aren't all that difficult once you've got characters ready. Also managed to throw in a couple of Duels of Wits, just to demonstrate how the scripted combat systems work in theory. Next time we'll start the game off with a duel between the Axe Bearer and his rival, and we'll probably use the Fight rules for that. We'll see how it goes.

Covok posted:So, what games are everyone in/running right now? I'm two sessions into DMing our 4e dnd campaign I'm basing (loosely) off a mish-mash of settings. One player has never played at TTRPG before, two others have never played DND before, the other two have played it plenty with me. We're having a blast! Even though I'm a tad rusty with running combats, they're approaching things in a "how do we get by" instead of charging in head first each time. Lotta good RP so far through the bard and rogue. My buddy is also running a IKRPG game and I'm playing a trollkin fellcaller/man at arms (troll dude that dragonshouts and hits things). I'm by far the weakest member of the group combat and social wise but it's still really fun to play.

I'm running a regular SR5 game with two regular players and some rotations. I'm currently deep in the Shadowrun mines and we're all enjoying it very, very much. It's the first game we've really had the opportunity to sperg out about, gun-porn and all, and it's really a nice setting/system for that kind of thing. I'd been playing some lite systems lately and it's been a nice departure from Dungeon World.

I just got invited to a Dresden Files game every other Sunday. This schedule makes me look like a learned and broad gamer, but most of the time my group has been strictly 4E. Sometimes I run my own homebrew Lovecraftian zombie apocalypse game.

I DM a 4E campaign that started with the Reavers of Harkenworld adventure, but I plan to completely derail it and turn it into some kind of Saturday Morning Cartoon thing where I start the session with the villains plotting some ridiculous thing and then having the players thwart it basically.

Well, if you are interested in that, Scarlet Heroes has rules to play with one player and no GM. I tried it...I felt insane doing it. Maybe I shouldn't have voiced the NPCs and PCs. Also, I believe there are a few games (like Tokyo Brain Pop) that has the players GM the game themselves.

Our loving GM in the other Pokemon game I'm playing does that with every gym leader. Custom team for each player for their gym battles, specifically designed around the player's weaknesses. Also scaled against their highest level Pokemon, but add ten or twenty levels.
