That set reminds me, I really like these two Delta Heavy tracks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbV4iqik1kE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-I65EsFQdU They're probably old news but I heard them both for the first time last week.

This would make a fine Introduction To Drum N Bass mix if you wanted to show someone what DNB was all about and you didn't want them to experience Hospital stuff first. I could see this leaving a real nice first impression. I'm gonna add this to the OP.

So hospital posted an interview with Fred V & Grafix, Danny Byrd and Etherwood about Logistics new album. They pretty much sum up everything I feel about the album. Its so god drat good. http://youtu.be/TNioGlm0cVg Also, danny byrd looks loving hilarious the older he gets. I love the Hawaiian-esque shirt.

I've always liked the lighter d and b stuff but I'm more a fan of instrumentals than stuff that is more vocal, and I really like stuff that has a jazz influence. Was looking at making a mix and am interested in some suggestions for specific artists and labels that I may have missed. The ones I've liked so far: Logistics Calibre Lenzman Alix Perez Toez Nu:Tone Voyager Utah Jazz labels: Hospital Shogun Spearhead Signature Chillax Trax I like some jungle too, though most of what I've found is harder than I like. actionjackson fucked around with this message at 19:57 on Aug 10, 2014 |

Give Fred V & Grafix a try. Their new album is more commercial than their older singles but I still liked it. Give One of These Days a try, it has vocals but from what you've said it sounds like you would enjoy it. Fred V & Grafix - One Of These Days: http://youtu.be/0ulEULEMpUw Or just listen to this mix with a lot of their older songs because its loving incredible. Still my favorite liquid mix to date. The way they mix the songs together is awesome, it sounds like they were meant to be played in a mix. http://youtu.be/7M9jdn99CAY

It's always fun to click around previews on sites like Beatport, Juno Download etc, you can get lost pretty easily. A label like Soul:R might be like what you're looking for, start there and check out the related producers and you'll be good to go. On a related note, time really flies, DRS' album is apparently coming up for two years old, and Marcus Intalex's "21" is over three, that's crazy.

S.P.Y's got a new album coming out, the 2nd part of Back To Basics, and he's released 2 songs from it so far, one with Diane Charlemagne. Neither of them are doing much for me, honestly, but here, if you want to check them out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B31Sg7Hj95U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_BJW15r6Mw

Okay so I made a mix. I've been doing mixes for a while but this is my first DnB one. I thought it would be tougher because of the higher BPM, but it really wasn't. I think it came out pretty well, outside of a bit of static I can't seem to remove during one track (around 14 minutes, if anyone knows how let me know), and a bit of a flub leading into Four Tet. Anyway check it out! https://soundcloud.com/scott-jackson/deep-dnb code:

Bungle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Swd9d2VfQBk I love this track so much Seba, Brookes Brothers, Apex (I LOVE Apex, Klute and London Electricity are great too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaN8CBiPJvs

While he might not like this third one, I love it. Hearing a trumpet or a horn or any wind instruments in any electronic track, (DnB or otherwise) is something that puts a smile on my face. Thanks for this.

For brass in DNB, I always dug this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRx_D4rjr_w - EZ Rollerz 'Cops Don't Like Us' It was the b-side to RS2000, which was a pretty popular club banger in like 2000 or 2001, but I always liked this side of the disc better.

I actually had the same thought after my first listen through, but the second time around I decided it probably isn't the greatest intro for a total dnb noob. The track selection is loving fantastic, and the mixing is energetic and clever, but the tracks don't really get much of a chance to breath, and I think an appreciation of the original tracks on their own is key to having your mind blown by what DSL does with them.

Drum and Bass is probably my favorite out of the electronic music genre's starting with listening to Pendulum around 2008 or so and since then I have stuck around with the genre. I guess a few of my most recent album purchases tend towards the lighter side. I usually like getting the compilations that UKF/Hospital/etc. release a couple times a year they tend to have a decent mix of songs for me to enjoy. This probably is one of my favorite songs, I really like the Brookes Brothers https://soundcloud.com/brookesbrothers/loveline-feat-haz-mat Other artists I have been listening to lately have been Shock One, Hybrid Minds, Fred V & Grafix, Metrik.
