Haven't encountered any of those in my first (current) game.

-Was captured by the giant mechanical claw of an Airship pirate whist driving in Germany.
-Found romance on the Trans-Siberian train with a Mongol lady.
-Forced into escorting a spy in India. Failed that and was diverted all the way back to loving Moscow.
-Saw an Artificer use suckers to investigate the Ottoman train.
-Spent five days in jail in Vladovovstock for having revolutionary material and failing to convince the police to look the other way.

Super spoiler

The best part was how it subtly worked in to the story that the Mongols had a secret rocket ship :allears:

I hope they make an expansion with more events.

Edit: One other thing I noticed is that very rarely Fogg will remark upon the items in your luggage.

He complained about traveling with a smelly candle.

Just caved in and bought 80 days. I love the reference about the 81 days right up at the start.

I haven't touched iOS gaming in about a year thanks to the influx of games for other mobile devices and PC so I came back to this thread and checked out the suggestions in the OP. The one that stuck out was Battle Cats which, it seems, was taken offline at some point but I cannot seem to find any story behind the how/why and I'm sad I missed out on it. Can someone here give me a quick scoop? Is it still playable somehow?

Still playable, though I got it when it was still up. I'm guessing they were just done with supporting it if it wasn't bringing in money anymore.

This and I would like some journal of routes and times I took so I could plan trips better and try to visit new places. I have played through a few times now and I seem to be pushed into the same places unless I try to go out of my way.

Maybe a list of routes not traveled would be helpful without changing the impromptu nature of the journey.

I'm on the same mission, and while I'm still searching, I have found one once. From what I remember, I found it on the previous "Use a Super Boost" mission, so I've been using those and figuring they only appear in the deeper waters.

Finding a refinery: Keep an eye out for pipes, and try to follow them. At least that's what worked for me.

One thing I really like about Deep Loot is that the boost/consumables are actually really reasonably priced (at least with the doubler) unlike most other games where they feel too expensive that I'd rather just skip them to save for permanent stuff.

Sky Force just updated with a bonus level or something. Downloading now.

Also, TA's review of Dragon Quest IV is up, giving the game 5 stars. It's a pretty well-written review, so I may take the plunge and check it out.

Someone mentioned that the game is misspelled 'Dargon' on purpose, because King has a trademark on using the word 'Dragon' in iOS titles. I don't know if that's a joke or not :/

The Crisis in Command games by Shenandoah are all really loving good light board/war games that are honestly better designed than a lot of the poo poo that grognards love to play on the PC. The Sorcery! games are excellent, and I imagine that 80 Days is too. The Ace Patrol games are pretty awesome. Strategy and adventure games work really well on touchscreens, so that's where you need to look if you want stuff for the platform that's actually good.

Even without the doubler, buying 9 Air and 9 Keys before each dive will easily pay for itself.

I happily bought the doubler to support their pricing model.

This is essentially where I am in my first playthrough. My Mutiny was successful but I still just landed in California, have like 300 pounds left and I'm on like day seventy something. I don't think I'm gonna make it. Not sure if I should still try and make it to the end or just restart.

Refineries are located a bit deeper. Somewhere along the "Brown" tile level. Maybe towards where Brown meets Grey.

Still, you'll see all the pipes first.

80 Days

Some of the routes are completely non-linear. There is a route with a teleportation device that you encounter through a series of bad events and apparent dead ends. Where it takes you is based on a blind choice. Getting doped up, kidnapped, separated from Fogg and joining the circus leads to a good boost in funds and a decent route. Getting kidnapped by Nemo takes you almost halfway around the world, but only happens through bad decisions. In order to go places that I would not think of normally, I organize around items that sell high in particular locations and route that way. It turns out faster in some cases because you have the funds to do expensive travel at other points.

I plan to play a couple of runs only making what seem to be the worst decisions and trying to get Fogg's health as low as possible, hopefully killing him. I have only toyed with this so far.

It's probably a joke made because King was recently given poo poo for its overzealous work trademarking.

The reality is that someone at SE didn't think to spell check the name before submitting it, or Apple somehow hosed up the name in the appstore. If it was intentional then whomever did it doesn't actually understand how the internet works.

Either that or someone at Kotaku was right and it was intentional to hide the name from searches. Yes that must be it!
