I kind of like the direction they were going with the boarding party doffs. Double the amount of shuttles, give them point defence weapons. Make them a swarm of super light fighters instead of three useless targets.

I imagine any big skill revamp would partly be done to let Cryptic add new skills, so a temporary "summon fighter swarm" thing would be pretty sweet. Especially if it had some rebuff it applied ( needing their to-hit maybe?). Would fit the cruiser feeling well.

Is there any reason to join a guild in this game? Or fleet or whatever. Re-joining SFD would perhaps generate more disgust towards me, but any other good reasons?

A great deal of the best gear in this game is bought from your fleet with fleet credits, which are earned by contributing to fleet projects.

Credits do at the very least transfer if you change fleets and will work on another fleet's base anyway, so if you don't want to join Dental in particular you can join another fleet, earn your credits there and then get an invite to Dental's starbase to buy the top-end gear we've unlocked.

Oh, I see. Are the fleet credits gained via solo or group activities? I've been in enough goon guilds to know most mmorpg goons are playing around US prime times and the guilds are usually deserted during Euro evenings.

You get fleet credits by donating various materials to the fleet projects. These can range from basic commodities like provisions, common doffs, refined dilithium and fleet marks. Fleet marks you mostly get from running group content (you can pug this, don't need to do it with fleet members) but everything else is just stuff you'll have to hand/be able to pick up from a vendor/exchange.

Fleet Marks, which are the most efficient way to get Fleet Credits, are mainly gotten during STFs - this game's equivalent of raids. But this endgame is super casual - most STFs are five-man and take all of 15 minutes.

May want to drop that APB for an APO just to get a tractor beam immunity. If a vaper comes after you you've got no way of countering the number one defence killing power. Plus most people will have their tac team running 24/7 so your APB won't do a whole lot.
