A NASCAR driver hits and kills someone in a sprint car race... fault or not, which driver do you think it is? No spoiler really needed, but it's Tony Stewart And in related news... a neighbor in my area just got a Viper and I've seen/heard him cruising around the past few weeks. Didn't see it yesterday, but there was a fatal crash involving a Viper about 7 miles from me. http://www.nbc4i.com/story/26240903/fatal-crash-closes-us-33-in-dublin meatpimp fucked around with this message at 14:18 on Aug 10, 2014 |

So I tried to hardwire my car charger to my 12V yesterday and messed up royally. I cut the pos and neg wires to the 12v and tried to splice those with the pos and neg from the USB cable. Obviously didn't work. I forgot I need a way to kick down the voltage from 12V to 5V. Took it all apart and spliced the cut wires back together and now the 12V won't work at all. I'm gonna check if it's a fuse later on, but the other outlet 3ft from that one still works so IDK. Would the easiest way to hardwire this be to purchase a universal 12V outlet, plug my USB charger into it and splice the pos and neg wires from the new outlet to the existing one?

Do you wire that right to the battery or can you tap off of an existing 12V source, like an outlet? Just popped the hood and I guess both outlets are on dofferent fuses cuz I blew that poo poo.

The shower which until this week leaked through the ceiling has now been deemed a fire hazard and is back out of service. The electrician that came to look at the oven somehow managed to crack the gas fitting loose and fill the kitchen with gas, so I had to call National Grid to come and cap the gas supply off on Thursday. The Meguiars kit is nice though because it includes 1000 & 3000 grit sanding sponges and a nice drill mounted pad. Most importantly it comes with a UV protectant that will hopefully keep them looking fresh longer.

I've done a whole head off refresh when the gf's mom's optima skipped timing and kissed 4 valves. What a royal pain in the rear end that weekend was. Oh and after I put it all together, turns out the chunks of the TB took out the lower crank sensor, and that wiring is behind the timing belt. gently caress that, I cut the connector off, snaked the wiring through, and resoldered the connector.

Your '91 9000T Hatch - Original list price $32995, add $765 for autotragic. No wholesale or average retail provided.

There's a few cars that will never go down in value. 911s, the C1 & C2 vettes, E30 M3 etc What is funny the E34 M5 and just recently the E39 M5 cars have become down right bargains lately. Though I think we have hit the low point on E36 M3 and I think its starting its upward swing. So, i'm assuming you guys have all heard about /DRIVE going to that new subscription model these days. Just curious, what's everyone's thoughts on it? I'm mostly just wondering why they decided to go that route and not, say, the Roadkill route where they get a corporate sponsor and do some fairly unobtrusive product placement in return for funding. I get that they're a smaller group and they don't have the Motor Trend backing like Roadkill, but with the quality of content they produce and the number of viewers they had, you'd think securing corporate sponsorship wouldn't be too hard.

Goosing the throttle on a yellow flag lap in response to the guy waving at you in his black suit is pretty dumb too. Honestly, I don't see how its not manslaughter. TS took a direct action (goosing the throttle at him - either in acknowledgement or assholishness) that led to his rear tires breaking loose, and the tail coming loose into and over the other driver.

I'm probably the most vocal against it. They have corporate sponsors, they do car reviews of retail cars, where the car companies fly them everywhere to do it. Half of their content is producing car commercials. The first episode of /tuned was a commercial for a tuning shop. Hot rod garage and road kill can easily find other sponsors because it's like "hey, we're putting brakes on a car, buy willwood brakes on and paint the car with eastood paint!". What can drive do? "Today we're driving the latest mercedes shitbox, buy a ford!" Proponents shreik "its only four dollars, stop being a cheapass", but if 10 channels suddenly want $4/month for their poo poo, suddenly you're a loving cable subscriber with no local news. It's not a matter of cost, it's a matter of value.
