I don't really see the point of a China expansion for CK2. It would be better as its own game where all of the mechanics would be tailored just for it. And China's relevance to Europe was minimal at best. What I mean is that while there were indirect interactions between the various regions of eurasia, not enough to really justify simulating them all in the same game. Like, if a stand-alone game came out containing only Asia, that would be fine and nothing important would be missed.

In HoI3 what exactly does a Convoy Escort do? Are they worth building/how many should I have? They are very expensive IC-wise compared to a convoy.

Sometimes when you have your subs/destroyers on convoy raiding, they won't attack a convoy if it has a lot of escorts compared to raiders. In practice I think I've seen this happen like, twice so I don't think they're worth building since the rest of the time they get sunk along with your convoys. Better to use old destroyers as escorts and light cruisers as hunters to kill the subs you find.

Luigi Thirty posted:The timeline has been extended backward to 476. I only want this if Paradox actually goes and manages to simulate a good migration system, as well as a dynamic de jure nation system. I don't really see myself playing it otherwise, because who wants to play on a map that's eternally the same few de jure nations (Minus a few super silly national unions) and nothing but a massive blob of Roman culture? I think the actual expansion will probably be focused on a small part of the world, like Russia or the HRE. I don't think there are really any more government types to flesh out, and I doubt they are going to do another expansion the size of their last one right off the bat. Actually those two could be combined in introducing new interesting forms of succession, like fleshing out the HRE (and perhaps the Byzantine Empire) succession rules, as well as a partial incorporation of the rota system for the Russian princes. That's my kokoro wish.

Adding on to the discussion from a page ago, in addition to all the crazy prototype weapons, what I want for HoI4 is a mod that turns it into a pulp Hollywood version of WW2. Like you've got Hydra units as Germany with futuristic weapons, disavowed suicide teams a la The Dirty Dozen or Inglorious Basterds as the Allies, Rocketeer men, hidden Nazi gold, occult weapons like the Arc, etc.

I'm thinking things like Belgrade Pact vs. Bulgaria, Austria vs. Bohemia or Hungary and South Italy vs. North Italy. Austria in particular works well because you can completely bypass any wars and stay completely isolationist while you deal with your minors.
