The lodestone page only updates at specific times (listed on the page). Your best bet is to check it at one of those times, and try creating immediately if it's open.

I don't really get the consumables market. It seems like a lot of effort for something that floods out really easily and then just sits there. Wouldn't prisms just sit there (in stacks of 1) and at best have a low 4 digit margin?

Not if you and a bunch of other crafters get a monopoly, which is what he was trying to do before someone with a bunch of money cockblocked him for shits and giggles.

Honestly if Ana didn't get the ball rolling they would have been pretty successful for awhile.

Nah, I was crashing prices for a little bit last night because I kept getting undercut. They were 10k a prism right after the event, and 30 minutes after the event they were up for 500-1k gil.

Yeah, the glamour market is actually pretty steady since somebody is always out there who wants to change up their look. If you happen to be the only person supplying a given glamour it can be decently lucrative as long as you don't overdo it and flood your own market.

It's when several people who are willing to undercut each other are making the same glamour at once that the price drops like a rock, because they will invariably put glamours up for sale faster than people will buy them. Or when you want to gently caress with somebody by tanking the market they are trying to corner.

Frankly, anyone that actually buys them at that price deserves to lose their money anyways. The prisms don't suddenly stop working a week from now when the price invariably drops down to sub-normal levels from the flooded market and serial undercutters.

This guy is unironically playing FFXIV: The Spreadsheet and analyzing COGS in a catgirl simulator with a pseudo-economy based on what color Yoshida's shirt is this week. spoilers: yoshi's shirt is always black

The 1% is comprised of 1.0 vets swimming in shards, and players that sell clears every week. The latter rolls in tens of millions of gil and blows it on cocaine Novus materia.

I'm on the last day of my free trial and am considering buying the game, but it's hard convincing myself to spend the money. How often does the PC version go on sale? If I could get the base game for a decent price, it would at least make paying a subscription fee more palatable.

Quite a few things are gated after you get your first character to 50. Up to that point, you're progressing through the story, learning about the world, and learning how to play. All the endgame stuff is just things to keep players playing

Probably to streamline the first 1-50 class as much as possible?

Basically, there's no reason, (which is the reason for a lot of minor annoyances in this game) but you should be replacing gear so often while leveling that glamours would be a waste of money anyway. It really is something best left until you start solidifying your gear set. You'll get access to way more cool looking stuff at 50 anyway.

Don't get me started on desynthing. The whole mechanic feels like it's ripped from a much shittier game.
