No, wait. Other car forums can be productive sometimes! For instance, I was having problems with the wiring on my beetle today, so I went onto TheSamba forums to see if anybody had a working wiring diagram, or knowledge about the hazard and turn signal switch assemblies.

After spending an hour sifting between posts of "All chineeez made items are poo poo, only get GERMAN parts :bahgawd:," and "I spray all of my electrical connections with WD-40 and let that poo poo soak in, you don't need no diagrams for that what do you think you are, a NERD?! :jerkbag:," I got so fed up I just replaced nearly all of the blade connectors, as they were corroded and I was too lazy earlier to do that. Even got in a kind of zen state with the wire crimper, soldering iron, heatshrink, and box of connectors.

Fixed my problems right up.

Pssssst.....click on technical....

More power, offset with more weight! It's the '60s all over again, only more stupid.

In the 60's the formula was putting more power in lighter cars, which did have the effect of making them heavier but that wasn't really the goal. The basic formula was take a large-car engine and shove it in a mid-size. It wasn't until the onset of the 70's did those midsizes suddenly start bulking up.

That's for muscle cars and yes, I agree. However, my first car was a '67 Buick Wildcat with a 430. More power, more weight = infinitely-maintainable burnouts. The full-size cars were a lot of fun until smog (and the '70s in general) killed everything.

A meatpimp seriouspost? :psyboom:

I still haven't made it through the Muscle Car phase. There is no way I can afford to now. Not a day goes by that I don't kick myself for not finding some way to scrounge up $10k for a 442 W30 back in the mid 90s.

They are awesome dogs, Mom breeds them and I missed the puppies but this one came back for the weekend. At some point I'll fence in my yard and get one but for now I get my dog fix by coming home. The big males are great and even though they weigh as much as I do they behave. Local university moves in this weekend so I'll be tempted to take one of them to campus for a walk.

I also had one as a kid and he was a great dog. The health issues keep me from getting another one. Someone needs to engineer them back to where they were 30 years ago.
