Cena is objectively the "Best for Business", but because he doesn't do exactly what the Authority wants when the Authority wants, they were getting rid of him in favor of their hand picked guy.

Then when they tried and failed to get rid of Cena, they got so frustrated that it became more important to them to get rid of Cena than to have their guy on top. Enter Lesnar.

Then we get some time where the storyline is HHH realizing how badly his obsession with control has led to him loving himself.

The funniest part, of course, is that half the people on here who complain about "normal" wrestling fans being too dumb for complex storyline are the ones completely not getting this not-really-very-complicated storyline.
