All the jokes are too close to the truth. As I've said, the '87 with EFI and air-air intercoolers was the only one worth a drat when they were new, but even the '87, when new, was troublesome. Here's a Motorweek review from that time... they complain of it running rough when cold. poo poo, at least it ran.

electronic controls + carbs + forced induction = bad news

I think one of the posters said it best earlier - this engine, and its related systems, is a carnival of bad ideas.

'87 did not have a carburetor, it was fuel injected.

Fair enough. I'm still going to hide behind the "it's Italian" clause. Was it just a Bosch KJet setup?

No, that would have been reliable. It was Magneti/Marelli (as was most of the other electrics in the car).

It's like House, but Lucas is the commonly diagnosed issue. Magneti/Marelli is the manufacturer the diagnostic team comes up with after ignoring it for being entirely improbable/impossible.

Thirty eight grand in 1988 :frogsiren:

I love the interior on the BiTurbo but there's no way that a 325is wouldn't be a leagues-better vehicle. How much would the 325is have been at that time? I think they were still under 30k but I'm not sure.

So the value of the Maserati mystique is over ten thousand dollars.

Yeah, and we can see how factoring in the value of an intangible concept paid dividends in this market. :rolleye:

I went looking for either a gif of an exploding grain silo or a video of somebody smoking bread and all I found was idiots lighting up bread sticks.

13", when next you decide to smoke something, don't step down from that high, owl-pellet pedestal. You need to keep looking up. Maybe some other kind of bird-exudate?

Pellets are a tough act to follow. About the only way to top that is to smoke a dead baby bird that fell out of its nest. Gain its spirit strength.
