Right, though they never really did their own ports, they always farmed them out to loving Tonkin House or whatever. PC was definitely their mainstay for the longest time.

Elliotw2 posted:Very much so, Japan never really latched onto PC gaming. Anyway, Japanese have a word for this stuff especially regarding Steam, "omakuni", which is short for an expression that translates to "your country isn't getting this game" (and sometimes even if it came from your country). It drives Japan's few PC gamers nuts. edit: back on topic, I am still having these weird controller problems in DW8PC, like the guard button being stuck on, the musou button sometimes not registering, and not being able to run diagonally. Has there been any more look into a solution? Samurai Sanders fucked around with this message at 08:51 on Aug 28, 2014 |

PC games are a thing in those places and having the game on Steam would help cut down on piracy. The Nobunaga and Romance games always get ported to the Asia/China region so I think they consistently sell. It's also cheaper than printing up copies to wallow in stalls behind Diablo 3 cardboard standees. If this ever goes on sale, I'm buying it under the pretext of practicing my traditional Chinese.

That's great news. 2 is so much fun and if they can continue to improve and refine from that point then 3 is going to be a treat.

Did people even like One Piece Warriors 2? I watched some videos and it seemed pretty low effort, like the Gundam titles.

One Piece Musou 2, at the very least, is incredibly high-effort. Every character plays in a manner completely and totally distinct from each other, and includes all sorts of cool nods to the anime in every attack. It has actual full combo trees (not just 7 different charge attacks, like normal DW) and status effects. If it had a cool free mode to play around in it would be straight up my favorite Musou game, it's that good.

I think that may be intentional. The presentation talked about Toukiden a bit and what they learned in making that, so I'm guessing there'll be Toukiden-esque fights in it?

How well do DQ spinoffs historically do? I would think that it is essentially a license to print money, but...well, they all can't be winners. And I thought that Dragon Quest X did not do so well for a DQ game, so there is also that.
