Can anyone give me a quick synopsis of how the bringing of charges works in this case? Someone was telling me that the state prosecutor being racists doesn't matter because anyone is able to bring charges forward against Wilson.

Here's an article I didn't see previously regarding the lawsuits against Ferguson law enforcement for civil rights violations: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/08/28/us-usa-missouri-shooting-idUSKBN0GS2KD20140828quote:The suit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, says law enforcement met a broad public outcry over the Aug. 9 killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown with "militaristic displays of force and weaponry," (and) engaged U.S. citizens "as if they were war combatants."

Is this surprising? What do you do when something you know is so heinously wrong is believed to be right by a large amount of people who control an enormous amount of political, social and financial power?

Come on now, he's being genuinely complimentary, and any cam-girl with a minimal degree of savvy would expect to have the video recorded. Imagine how many more crimes could be solved if everyone walked around video-sex-chat-recording all day?

There are police departments out in the backwoods so hurting for any applicant that if he wants to, he can get a job somewhere with no benefits and 9.14 per hour with a staff of two part-time officers and a racist chief who is the cousin and brother of the mayor. They'll consider his background as a plus and a way to keep the only black resident in check. Vahakyla fucked around with this message at 18:12 on Aug 29, 2014 |

Toxic Fart Syndrome posted:By the police's own narrative, the officer fired at Michael Brown as he was running away, and we now know through math that he had to have been hit as he fled. The idea that he then turned on the spot and charged at the officer, after being shot one or more times, is patently absurd and anyone still advocating for that line of thinking is either an idiot or a racist. I have a good friend who's a doctor that responded to this with "I read shock trauma CTs all the time and extremity bullets won't stop anyone" so maybe there's a shred of credibility with the charge scenario? That doesn't explain why he would stop and decide welp going to turn around and charge now but it might at least be physically possible.

He may be a doctor but that's one of the most idiotic blanket statements I've heard in a long time. On PAPER maybe there's no reason for a extremity shot to stop someone, but we have gotten so incredibly efficient at making death that, with the ammunition available to anyone at all today, there's really no such thing as a simple 'extremity shot'. Seriously, I'm not going to go all TFR and spout ammunition stats, but that's a stupid rear end statement.

A bullet, even a pistol bullet, shattering the tibia or femur will absolutely physically render a person unable to run or walk.
