Linedance posted:Every major and minor ATV manufacturer makes what you're talking about. Oh, I know. But they don't have the mystique of also being a Norwegian postal delivery truck. Plus they all have ridiculous badging and styling. It'd be nice to see some competition in the plain utilicart market from something other than Kubota or Deere.

Kawasaki Mules aren't that offensive, styling-wise: http://kawasaki.com/Products/SubCategory.aspx?id=15 We mostly use John Deere Gators on the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix, but I spent a couple of days driving a Kawasaki, I think it was the smallest Mule 600. It didn't have anywhere near the trailer-pulling power of the diesel-powered Gators and was slightly more top-heavy when cornering, but it was much nicer to drive. It had lighter, more comfortable steering, plus it was narrower and easier to thread between trees. If I had a large garden or park or whatever, I would totally have one. Or a fleet, so we could race them KozmoNaut fucked around with this message at 17:51 on Aug 27, 2014 |

I had a Kawi Mule for awhile, that thing was bullet proof and never got stuck no matter how hard I tried. 4 lo always got it out of any situation, great little trucks (atv).

The Camry is a grandpa-mobile that wallows, handles badly and is no fun to drive, right? Right? http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2013/05/review-toyota-camry-se-2-5l-track-tested/ Wrong. I am a firm believer that there is no greater joy in life than to thrash around family cars in ways they were never meant to be used.

Having driven a zillion brand new cars of various makes I can categorically say that even the most miserable econobox of today has incredible road-holding and A to B speed compared to sporty cars from the 80's or earlier, that article is no real surprise.

I thought it was fuckton amount of frame+bodywork to get a bagged dually like that, but looking at that last picture, do they flip the frame upside and then it's just a large amount of frame+bodywork?

If you want it to lay completely on the ground is it a lot of work. Some of those pictured have fully custom frames. A lot of people do new front clip with new arms and clearancing so that tie rods etc clear. The rear isn't THAT much different than a normal bagged truck, just beefier. Bagging anything is a lot of work and not cheap if you want it done right. The Little Shop of Horrors (now Little Shop mfg) does great work and has built several vehicles for friends of mine.

Just came back from a re-enactment day at a nearby museum. I'm not really into military but there was plenty of insane automotive stuff. I won't comment most of these but will try to answer any questions. Soft-top military Trabant is a frankly terrifying combination of words. A Jeep got stuck at the end of first battle and had to be pulled out. I didn't get too many good shots from there as I was too far and without a long tele lens. Some sort of reservists were demonstrating operations with a convoy including an ambush. Apparently they still use UAZs there. Lots of people used to have a plastic one as kids. More stuff incoming once I go through everything.
