What are some good logic-based puzzle game downloads? I have already played through the Picross E series and all the NIkoli releases, as well as Mario Picross, but I would love more like these. I find that the 3DS is fantastic for the puzzle games.

Tappingo is meh, since it hardly ever has anything difficult, and although I have played through the Layton series other than the xAA one, I am looking for straight puzzle games, or at least minimal story.

vvv Yeah, it is decent. I was really annoyed by the 15 tutorial levels that aren't skippable, but it is fun. I don't have Crashmo, yet. Is it more fun?

Crashmo doesn't gently caress around, it's a lot better than Pushmo in that respect.

Glow Artisan on DSiWare is one I really liked. Nintendo published a ton of puzzle games on DSiWare and I didn't play most of them, but Snapdots (a version of the old GBA game Guru Logi Champ) is pretty good.

Mole Mania might be a bit more action-y than you'd like, but it's a fun VC game in the Sokoban/Adventures of Lolo mould and was made by the same team that made DK94.

Tappingo 2 is coming out this week, incidentally. I get the impression it's pretty much just a level pack, though.

If you're lookin' more for a simple, formulaic puzzler, then I may recommend Art of Balance: Touch (although there's a superior version which is supposedly going to be out very soon on the Wii U, if you've got one of those). If you'd like a bit of an adventure-y platformer, Fluidity: Spin Cycle is really nice.

I haven't seen it mentioned here, but I just noticed an announcement on the PAL eShop that the DSiWare title Go! Go! Kokopolo! Harmonious Forest Revenge is being removed from the eShop after today. So if you really want it, now is your last chance.

That's odd. As someone who didn't like the Layton games, I found LxW to be far too much of a Layton game to bother with. Not enough AA.

I am a huge fan of Link n Launch on DSiWare, although it is somewhere between pure logic puzzle and an action puzzle game like Tetris or whatever. You have to shift pipes around to connect your spaceship to fuel sources, but you only have 2 minutes to get your ship to its destination so you have to make compromises between the good solutions to puzzles and the fast solutions.

DSiware is tremendously underrated and shouldn't be overlooked. Sadly when transferring these titles to a new system you will lose your save data.

As a digital only consumer I am dreading that day I trade in my XL for a New 3DS. SD card incompatibility alone is going to be a big issue. Is the wireless pc backup a feature or a step to an actual account system?

Are downloaded games tied to a user account? Like if I get a game on my 3DS and there happens to be a Wii version, do I get both versions? Or are they considered totally different games?

Well that sucks.

So let's say I've got a regular Wii and a 3DS and I want to play the "best" versions available for every Zelda game possible given those two consoles. What should I get on each?

I saw that Zelda 1 and 2, and Oracle of Seasons/Ages are on 3DS, but am I better off getting any of them for the Wii?
I've got Ocarina of Time 3D, Phantom Hourglass DS, and A Link Between Worlds 3DS.

I played Ocarina on N64, and I played Link to the Past (repeatedly) on SNES, but haven't played any other Zelda games and want to get caught up on what I've been missing.

If there's a dedicated Zelda series thread then I didn't see it and I'll totally take my question there. :)

Typically, AA consists of half courtroom and half investigation. This game is slightly more than half investigation, only it's presented as a Layton game and occasionally there are puzzles. If you think of it that way, it's ALL Ace Attorney!

I just can't think of that many games I'd want to upgrade to the Wii U for in order to justify the price. I've got my Wii and I still like it a lot, and I like that it's backwards compatible with my Gamecube games. If I were to get a Wii U it would be to replace my Wii, and losing Gamecube backwards compatibility is a pretty tough sell for me right now unless the Virtual Console started emulating more GC games.

Stand down, men! It's only smooching!

Why not just wait a month, keep your Wii, and buy a WiiU with the money you saved during said month instead of trading in your Wii?

You don't have to get rid of your old nintendo console. And the WiiU isn't just a "upgraded games" machine - it's a legitimate console with great first party games, fairly decent indie support, and pretty graphics.

I mean, do what you want, but embrace the hoarder in you and keep your Wii :v:

I can't imagine you'd get much for the Wii anyway, plus you'll probably want to keep the controllers around for the Wii U.

I keep a Gamecube with a Game Boy Player hooked up to it around for all my GCN/GBA gaming needs because that's how I roll.

The canceled version? :suicide:

I'll see if I can budget for a Wii U, I'm already trying to budget for an Xbox One. Wolfenstein The New Order was fun on my 360, but I really need to play it The Way It Was Meant To Be Played (i.e., without bad loading times and pop-in low-res textures and poo poo).

And believe me, I'm not against hanging onto old consoles. I've still got my N64 hooked up to my TV, and I've got an SNES kicking around (but I'm really in favor of phasing the SNES out if I can Virtual Console the games on it that I care about). poo poo, I even have a classic first-edition "white brick" Game Boy that I've kept just to say I have one. :v:
The Wii really felt like a legitimate replacement for the Gamecube - since it could play GC games and supported GC controllers, I had no reason to have a Gamecube if I got a Wii.
I still have my classic Xbox since there's a ton of games on it that I like, and the Xbox360's backwards compatibility was garbage.

I might have to look into what the Wii U has to offer and see if there's anything else that tempts me. Getting a 3DS recently has really reminded me how much I enjoy Nintendo's first-party games, and how the bulk of my best childhood gaming memories were on Nintendo consoles. I love my Xbox and Xbox360, but I think I'll always be a Nintendo kid deep down inside. :kiddo:

Cubemen 2 is notable for the fact that it has cross-platform online multiplayer and level sharing with the PC/iOS versions, but I haven't bothered to even look at it so I don't know if it's actually worth caring about.

3DS dudes, note the sales on Sayonara Umihara Kawase and Code of Princess: neither game has been on sale before in PAL-land, and one of 'em is worth owning!

CV3 and Gargoyle's Quest 2 are both great, and Gargoyle's Quest 2 has never been re-released until now, as far as I know.
