i wonder how long Microsoft can keep up their strategy of "literally do the exact opposite thing of what would fix <whatever> problem" and still remain solvent "Man, our culture is absolutely toxic, we have bad and redundant products, we have too many really dumb and bad upper/middle managers..." *fires all the Q&A staff, no managers* "Whew, all better."

but that is the problem microsoft cant get around if you use any combination of platforms googles poo poo works great so its the de facto standard if you need to work in windows and android (and os x and ios too if you want) but there simply isnt anyone who wants to be surrounded by microsoft garbage everywhere and yet no matter how much evidence piles up theyll never admit that's the case

it also seems to me that they could integrate some kind of syncing between ie & safari or some poo poo using i actually use onedrive on my devices and it works pretty well

the whole surface thing nicely encapsulates the difference between apple and msft apple: designs a multitouch ui, uses it to power a line of smartphones and tablets, sells hundreds of millions of items msft: designs a multitouch ui, uses it to power a $5000 cocktail table, sells dozens of them

# ? Aug 31, 2014 21:54 |

i think dozens is a bit optimistic. I asked microsoft uk where i could get some pricing information for a project i was doing for someone a few years back, and they didn't have a clue.

once you have a mac with an ssd and an i5 you have to have some pretty specific needs for it to no longer suit them.
