Dude, you've never heard someone use the argument that "Hitler wanted the government to do a thing, and liberals want the government to do a thing, therefore liberals are Hitler?" Yeah, the Hitler comparisons died down a bit, but it was the message of the entire Tea Party movement before top he 2010 midterms! Glenn Beck became the most popular pundit in America for a while talking about how the FDA, EPA, public schools, and Medicaid are precursors to a second Holocaust.

To the rabid Tea Bagger co-workers I know, anyone less ideologically pure than Ted Cruz is a liberal. Any Republican who would DARE to "work across party lines," "reach across the aisle," acknowledge science, advocate altruism for refugee children, or, worst of all, do anything "bi-partisan" is absolutely a "lib" and MUST GO.

We've seen, I think for the first time just in the last election cycle, the word "Bi-Partisan" used in TV and radio ads as a pejorative. The first time I heard it, I sat in stunned silence because I honestly thought no party would ever go that far.
