Looking cute, feeling cute.
So a couple weeks ago I was in small-town Kentucky, where I'd grown up around, and whose local paper at one point auditioned Get Fuzzy when it was good for a month before replacing it on an ongoing basis with Funky Winkerbean during the depths of its Cancer Angst Woes. Naturally, during my return, I rechecked to see if Funky indeed still dwelled on its pages, which it did not for reasons unknown. (The Gay Prom Goers storyline probably did it in.) Anyway, instead it had something from Fort Knox, which looks something like this.

So yeah, the Messenger-Inquirer is still hitting it out of the park on the funny pages.

It's just been the two of them talking since the 14th of July, and even that was just when they played that dumb practical joke on the local gossip. So I saw earlier in the thread about that "Zen Pencils" comic and how bad the robin williams tribute was. I checked Gocomics to look for it, but couldn't find it.

However, I did find this.

Zen Pencils might be the worst comic I have ever seen.

Edit: Oh, the tribute comic is on their website.

It's terrible.

What the blithering gently caress is this supposed to be about? Is he really making some sort of ironic statement about people worshipping the Beatles and looking to them for spiritual guidance in the year two thousand loving fourteen?

Every time I read this comic it sits on my head like the world's smuggest elephant.

Zen Pencils is always a mess, but it is always unironically so. He is agreeing with Lennon's statement that we are all personally responsible for achieving our dreams, just like Jesus Christ the great master said in the Bible but nobody knows that because they don't read it anymore, while presenting the Beatles as "great masters" equivalent to Jesus Christ because Lennon once made a somewhat rambling affirmation quote when Playboy asked him what his dream for the 1980s was.
