I almost bought the Mario series over again on 3DS but dammit Nintendo I won't support this business practice.

I do however own Double Dragon on both platforms but they'll only get me like that once. :negative:

Call Nintendo. They do have the ability to remotely transfer your NNID (and thus your eShop games) to a replacement unit.

Bowl of rice overnight, see if it starts tomorrow. If it does you probably want to transfer to another unit. If it doesn't, time to call Nintendo.

So I backed a Kickstarter for Mighty No 9. and they sent me a code for the North American version of their OTHER new game, Mighty Gunvolt. Since I live in Europe and I'm too lazy to jump through any hoops to get it, I'm just gonna leave the code here so one of you guys can grab it. Please post if you take it and I'll edit it out of this post.

Question about the Canadian Target eShop credit deal thing (buy one card, get one card 25% off) to anyone who might know. Does Target charge taxes on buying cards like that? I kind of have to go out of my way to get to a Target near me and if I'm going to be paying nearly as much in taxes as I'm saving on a single card it's not really worth the trip.

They shouldn't charge taxes since you pay the tax when you actually buy stuff through the eShop (and if you set your province to Alberta on your eshop settings you basically don't pay tax at all).

I think you're mixing up the American and Canadian deals - I'm pretty sure Canada is just 25% off on all cards.

But yeah, tax is done through the eshop so Target shouldn't charge - think of it more as a gift card.

Hmm. I'll swing by Target after work then. Debating on how much eShop credit I should get. I don't want to spend a lot of money but there's so much that I want on the eShop either right now or coming real soon-- Dual Destinies, Hyrule Warriors, Tropical Freeze (probably going on discount during the Smash sale), Bayonetta 2... I could probably just pick up $200 and be good to go for a long time but I hate plunking down huge wads of money in a single purchase.

EDIT: ^^^Oh?? I thought the deal was Canada only and it was BOGO 25% off. If it's a flat 25% that's even better!

EDIT2: I'm looking at an online flyer and it just says 10% off game cards. :sigh:

EDIT3: I guess some stores have PS and Nintendo cards at 25% but not all of them so YMMV? Either way I guess I'll pop in and see what it's like at the one near work.

Games are up for Club Nintendo NA:

Wii U:
Mario Bros.
Kirby Super Star

Wii:
Super Punch Out
NES Play Action Football

3DS:
The Legend of Zelda
Super Mario Bros.
Touch Solitaire
ArtStyle Pictobits

A little bummed, Kirby Super Star was the first game I bought when I bought my Wii U 2 weeks ago. I don't want Mario Bros. at all. If I had a 3DS I would totally get Zelda or Super Mario Bros.

The only problem with Super Star is that there was a DS port with more minigames a couple years back. That said, KSS is still an amazing game and if you have the coins, get it!

Exactly. Then once you've beaten KSS, go play Kirby Triple Deluxe (I just beat it last night and god drat what a great game). Then go hunt down Kirby Super Star Ultra because it's even better than the original. So much good Kirby.
