It's a pretty bog standard escort mission that functions just like every other council mission like it The waves are fixed and placed in about the worst places they could be, if you found it easy you probably happened by luck or intuition to be in the right place to pick off the Thin Men as they dropped in. That or you just got really, really lucky with having Thin Men still be alive on the alien turn, because at this point in the game you expect a Thin Man to kill someone every time they shoot.

Yup yup, plus the Thin Men drop onto elevated positions, and are armed with Light Plasma Rifles, which give +10 aim. Added to the height advantage, the fact that Thin Men can leap up to the tops of buildings at will and the fact that there's a lot of verticality to the stage, and it's Thin Man Hell.

But you have complete control over when they spawn. And while the map is tailor made for then men movement you can use the hard corners and rooftops to easily fall back without getting overwatched if a thin man lands in a bad spot. Or maybe I just spent too much time playing the original and went into the expansion with a much greater knowledge than the average player(I mean, it's not like the game ever makes it obvious that the overwatch drops are triggered by the vip moving into certain areas)

Here's an idea: Once you get South America's continent bonus and are torturing aliens anyway, characterize your designated covert ops trooper as that captured Exalt agent with his mind broken.

Eh, it's really only something I figured because I'm from Germany and have relatives in Luxemburg, so I can at least somewhat place the accent.

I'm pretty sure you do. I can't say for certain, because you get XP from just surviving a mission, but I've had troops only stun stuff in a mission and still get promoted afterwards. I've never really payed attention, but I think mission kills and soldier kill count include stunned enemies. Also, according to the wiki, a successful stun counts for In The Zone.

I think Speedball said we can discuss abilities and such freely, but I don't remember definitely, so I'll tag this just in case: If you're playing without Training Roulette, they're the only ones to get Low Profile, so with Mimetic Skim they could run up unnoticed, stun, and then retreat again. It could certainly be a use for a covert ops sniper, outside of covert ops; I tend to give them some skills I wouldn't otherwise pick for a sniper (gunslinger, battle scanner - not that they're bad, I just prefer the other ones), so I end up never using them after a point.
