It wouldn't surprised me if their bot detection sweep didn't really distinguish between botting and multiboxing.

There's a dev blog up on the http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/7004273 Short version: weaker hull and shields, cloaking device (or one rank better than the faction's usual), Commander hybrid intel seat (with the other half in the ship's primary seating) and at least one other hybrid intel seat, and a Sensor Analysis-style "gather intelligence" power that triggers special attacks. Also, the stats are posted! Look fairly predictable really. Main trick is the Intel Cruiser and klank battlecruiser get cruiser commands (Strategic Maneuvering and Weapon System Mastery, but we only care about the latter anyway) but the science vessel version doesn't get sensor analysis. And ahahahaha... quote:Q: Will Fleet variants of the Intel ships be available at Delta Rising launch?

I'm gonna wait a month or so for the pack to be added to the c-store so I can buy it with dil anyways.

I'm not entirely convinced a cruiser with 5 eng slots and a standard cloak is worth purchasing the fed ship pack. The toilet seat with 5 tac might be decent though in a fleet version.

The Klingon T6 Trait sounds pretty awesome (unless the placement of the bonuses in the formulas is awful). Even if it's just 10% accuracy (1% per stack) - that's basically another modifier on all of your guns for free. Doesn't even take a console slot.quote:Q: Do Expose Vulnerability debuffs from multiple Intel ships stack? Perma-hold from a group of science ships? Sounds like PvP fun. Keep in mind there's a limited number of starship traits you can slot; I think it's four total at the moment, like with the rep traits. The passives are passive, but T5U ships get those too. Although this does make me wonder what the hell klanks and roms will do with starboat traits, considering they'll have all of two T6 ships available at launch but four trait slots.

I thought the four things you got level 1-4 went in starship trait slots, and you just had the option to use a T5 trait in place of them.

In fairness they did the same thing with the Romulan pack too, but is seemed a bit less skeevy then. Probably because that expansion didn't come with mandatory c-store upgrades for everyone I guess. Also because they talked up the Intel ships having one less console than the T5U ships, then whoops we find here that's because they just aren't fleet.

Is the Borg cutting beam worth it for a relatively new level 50? The torpedo launcher seems weak on my Fleet Mogh.

# ? Sep 9, 2014 03:02 |

Yeah, pretty much. The borg console is basically mandatory, the cutting beam works for every ship, and the 2p bonus is always handy.

That romulan "faeht" warbird looks like its going to be gank-fantastic. http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/7004333 Not to mention the trait it unlocks: Tactical Retreat (Starship Trait) After achieving level 5 in your Faeht Intel Warbird, you will unlock the Tactical Retreat starship trait. While this trait is slotted, gain a large defense and flight speed buff for a short time after being knocked below 25% hull strength. You also become untargetable for 2 seconds and have all enemy threat reduced to zero. Tactical Retreat can be triggered once every 60 seconds. Good luck catching the bastard before that enhanced battle cloak gets flipped back on

The only reason to use the borg launcher is to make things disintegrate when you kill them with a high yield torp. Admittedly this is a pretty good reason!

The Eclipse looks very workable as a cruiser; 10 turn and 55 inertia will make it more nimble than the Galor (since in the magical land of STO higher inertia number = less actual inertia). It's got very solid Boff seating (one more tactical skill would be nice, but eh), and the Fleet console layout will presumably be 4/5/2. Finally, the ship skill (+Def+DR when using Engie/Intel skills) will probably be up forever under Aux2Batt.

Isn't A2B going to be nerfed into the ground with the expansion? Or is that speculation at this point?

Cryptic hasn't been shy about wanting to kill it, but it's just speculation for now, right. (They want to kill it because it's the only top tier endgame build you can get for free.)

Asimo posted:Cryptic hasn't been shy about wanting to kill it, but it's just speculation for now, right. Yeah this. You either run Aux2butt or you run attack pattern officers, which will cost you an arm and a leg since they require ultra rares as opposed to generic very rares.

You can kinda fake a non-A2B build with tac team cooldown conn officers instead of attack pattern conn officers but that only works for a few ships (something like TT/FAW2/APB2, FAW1/APB1), is less effective (since you're down a rank of FAW half the time), and is still a good 10+m rather than just running a doff chain for a few weeks. Duty officers in general desperately need an overhaul. I'm not holding my breath for them to be not randomized, but you at least need to guaranteed to get one or two purples from a pack or something. At the moment the critical DOFFs are this clusterfuck of being in high demand and vastly too expensive on the exchange for most players, but too sporadic and rare to be worth bothering to buy packs to try for.

Lagomorphic posted:If you got the launcher then you hosed up. Get the console and cutting beam and the assimilated engine and deflector. If you want a torp get the Dyson torp and console (the console is poo poo without the torp but the 2-piece is great) or the Romulan torp. You also want the Romulan console regardless of torp choice. Also the Nukara console is great if you're using a beam boat. Lastly the Dyson shield is great with the assimilated engines/deflector 2 piece and the Romulan beam is essential if you're using plasma beams (which you should be unless you're in a cannon boat). Thanks for the advice. I just have a garden variety rare Mk XI torpedo launcher, but do have the assimilated universal console in an engineering slot.

I should add that you really don't need a torp. They're useful on an escort since you can use torp spread to fill up a tac power but they're pretty much poo poo on a cruiser so prioritize accordingly I guess. Also the cutting beam goes on the back and replaces a beam array or turret, just in case that wasn't clear in anyway.
