Is tonight the greatest moment in Dominick Cruz's life?

No.

The greatest moment in my life was realizing that I didn't need a belt to be happy.

I'm just afraid of him sliding back to where he was at Sirius or Live At The Compound. Actual discussion doesn't bother me but an hour of hammering the same talking point or drunkenly screaming about those animals isn't something I want to listen to for free, let alone $7 a month.

But I have to give him credit, he seems to be aware of that fact.

I didn't see many Live From The Compounds but I don't think I ever saw him do any with real guests. So far on the Anthony Cumia Show he's had just as many guests on as he's had solo shows. That alone will probably keep him from going completely political/racial talk. Colin and Jimmy and others aren't afraid of talking race with Anthony but those guys will keep the show lighter than Anthony talking about worldstar videos for 8 hours a week.

And Anthony enjoys making fun of silly poo poo in the news more than he loves yelling about black people. When he was doing O&A and LFTC at the same time he would do all of the fun stuff on O&A, so by the time he did his own show on weekends all he had left to talk about was the race stuff that pollutes his brain.

So I wouldn't worry about the show having a sudden drop in quality.

Jesus man. That Jim Norton appearance was really awesome and we were all right that if they had just kicked out Opie it'd be a great show. What kind of self hating rear end in a top hat would I be if I just encouraged racist to continue on with spreading horribleness? If Jimmy were to come on full time and squish that poo poo I'd do the yearly subscription in a heartbeat. I can separate the art from the artist but it was so in your face that he got fired over it.

Lighten up Sally, its comedy. 95% of the racial poo poo Ant riffs on is the same poo poo most people in general, regardless of color, would think is animal behavior. The other 5%, might be racism.

He calls the ones animals who he thinks are acting as animals, but I have yet to see him stand up and advocate for genocide or sweep the race off the planet or whatever it is you keep imagining. He's a goddamn racist who admits it's in his blood and can't resist being attracted to stories of them acting up. That bias in his comedy is a far cry from rallying white people to rise up and kill people for their skin color.

That said, it sucks when people are making fun of the worst examples of people you're forced to be associated with, so I don't expect you to enjoy it. But let's not blow this poo poo out of proportion.

You realize you're talking about a guy who honest to god believes in eugenics and would rant for a hour+ straight about minorities without a single bit of comedy, both at home and on his internationally broadcast radio show, right?

This isn't a case of something being blown out of proportion by people who didn't actually listen to the show beforehand.

He's been doing a good job of keeping it in check (at least since he had a literal white supremacist on) but you can't blame people for being hesitant to buy a subscription when there's a chance that it could switch over to Stormfront Radio if Anthony gets bored or lazy.

I can't really look down anyone for listening to TACS, considering I listened to O&A for years even though Ant openly hated my race. I was dumb and initially saw it as silly rants that nobody took seriously (Patrice being there to tear them down helped). Once it started consuming him around 2012/2013 it really became harder and harder to wave off, skip, or ignore. At some point it just felt like I was disrespecting myself to continue to sit there and listen to him spew that poo poo. For me, the damage is already done. Even if he does tone it down on the show he's still on Twitter being a hateful pos.

So yeah, after that I can't really turn around and poo poo on people who still listen. But please, at least be honest about the guy's racism. It isn't just a part of his comedy, and he doesn't just hate the "bad" ones.

That's fair, and I agree. I think even he would agree he has a racist bias, and if you can't stand the thought of hearing his opinion or worry that you might be swayed to have some hateful view then I don't recommend watching either.

I guess I just resent the implication that I'm advancing a horrible agenda by even paying him to entertain me. If I used that standard, from personal experience, there would basically mean never buying any entertainment ever. There are a lot of broken people in the business, especially comedy.

Exactly. I figure Anthony, regardless of how racist he actually is, is not in the business of actively discriminating against people. If my money was going to deny people housing or increasing racial profiling, I may feel differently.

Xenology is an unnatural mixture of science fiction and formal logic. At its core is a flawed assumption...

that an alien race would be psychologically human.

Anthony pretty much hung up on a caller that called in to inform him that a white person was killed by a black person and it wasn't reported, because Jimmy was on. Hopefully that keeps happening.

I don't think anybody said that you're advancing a horrible agenda by subscribing. Some people don't want to support him at all for his personal views, other people (like myself) are afraid that he'll backslide into unfunny/uninteresting race talk instead of what he's doing now.

He's a racist but as long as he can keep that aspect of himself in check, there's nothing wrong with paying him.

Joe DeRosa went on Rogan's podcast and talked about Anthony. He basically said he doesn't want to be friends with Anthony anymore, doesn't agree with him politically, racially, unfollowed him on twitter, etc. Joe also said he was pissed that Anthony never defended him on Twitter from people who were giving him poo poo for not supporting Anthony.

Anthony discussion starts an hour and 14 minutes into the podcast.

Nah Joey Roses isn't doing this to get people talking. He's always been a very emotional guy (just look at his last O&A appearance where he literally did a podcast about sensitivity and Opie & Jimmy made fun of him for an hour about it) and that gets in the way of his decision making.

Bill Burr probably feels the same way as DeRosa but Burr has the sense to not bring it up in public when it's a matter between friends. There's no reason to invite O&A fans into it when DeRosa knows he's going to catch poo poo over it.

I feel like this whole-heartily. Obviously the dude is funny and with Jimmy on, I've never laughed so hard at anything then when O&A was really on. I stepped away after the patrice years because it got a little to politically driven and Opie was unbearable. Ever since the split, the Opie hate has reached critical mass and the fans have been just burying O&J, but the show itself hasn't been that bad. If you accept the premise that the show was mediocre before the split, it resulted in a lot more content, which is nice.

Yeah that's one thing I don't get. Elsewhere fans are making GBS threads on Opie and Jimmy for having no chemistry and making a bad show, but in my opinion O&J and TACS sound the exact same as the original O&A has for years. A few days ago Opie suggested someone should splice up clips from Anthony's show and his show to make a new O&A, and I bet if you did it would be indistinguishable from any other O&A show from the last 5 years.

I listened to a few O&J shows on my long car trips last week, though Steakgate was more entertaining. I enjoyed a Vos and Bonnie bit as well as that show with Ace Frehley and whoever the hosed up female comedian was who nearly starved herself to death.
