How much throwing is too much? I have developed a hunger for unleashing a throwpocalypse after I get a knockdown.

That's too much, if you were at the arcade you would get stabbed. Don't do it.

There should be a dip switch setting that autoforfeits the match if you throw. Only fair for such a dishonorable tactic.

Look, if throwing on wakeup is wrong, I don't wanna be right (or play Rose anymore, that's her whole mixup game there, throw or cl.MK).

I'd say throwing is inherently stronger online, because it's harder to react to it. I'd say don't develop a habit of throwing too much, because then any good opponent you face will just start using lows and frame traps to blow up your excessive throwing.

You can't react to throws in SF4. It's always a guess to try to stand/crouch tech, even if you're 'reacting' to the setup. If somebody isn't teching your tick throws, keep throwing them. If somebody isn't punishing you mashing stand tech or crouch tech on defense, keep doing it.

What you do is get a throw, then do the shimmy into a throw, then dash back dash in cl.MK into a soft knockdown, pretend like you're going for something else and calmly back off to block the DP. It's like playing Ken!

Ryu, Balrog, Rose, Chun-li. Depends on how much you value having a projectile, really.

I hate that everyone online now seems to be aware of Rose's fast as gently caress throw. She beats out Hugo's SPD so regularly it's like my second most hated match behind Gouken fireball spamming.

Just loving do it, worst thing that can happen is a random ultra or random uppercut>fadc into incomplete ultra. You can't do poo poo to it on reaction, even whiff punish it.

All throws are the same speed minus Gouken back throw and all grappler SPDs are throwable during startup. If you're getting thrown out of SPD it's a situation where a normal would hit you anyway, and because you've done nothing to establish to them that throwing in that situation isn't a good option.

The gently caress? Maybe Roses are just smart idk, I thought I heard (possibly on dumb commentary) that her throw is superior in some way and other than cool people who can grab me out of MS/Lariat that's the only character who I've seen counter throw me consistently and fucks up my SPD game regularly. Her throw is better by proxy because of her throw invincible normal that can link into a knock down.

I get a bunch of throws on grapplers because if you try to SPD me, there's always the chance you're getting blown up by cl.MK, so every once in a while I'll just dash in throw. Add that to the great throw range... I love cl.MK.

Hi would you guys like to do an SF4 team tournament on PC? 2 captains (Bebopablorbpalbopalo and Trykt), pick teams, BO1 Pokemon style (you play until you lose a game, captain chooses next person to play). Will run it in the evening EST time for any given day. Captains will draft players in #goonsgarden blah blah I'll post more formal rules once there's indication of interest. I'll stream it or Snakeman will or something. If you would like to play in the tournament you need to do two things: 1) vote in this poll: http://strawpoll.me/2551614 2) write a post with the following bolded: ### FORUMS NAME HERE / STEAM PROFILE LINK HERE If I didn't explain this clearly at all then ask and I can make fun of you. If there's interest in this I can also set up more events (maybe not all in SF4).

...Does the move where Yang grabs the other guy and flips over him actually do damage? I'm watching this replay in slow motion and I do it twice to Sagat. The first time, I didn't see his health bar go down, but the second time it won me the second round. Is it just such a ridiculously small amount that you wouldn't notice it outside of that kind of situation?

I'm of the opinion that anyone who can't reliably land Evil Ryu's high damage combos is likely better off with regular Ryu. This is especially true if you're new to the game.
