MTV has spent 8 years trying to convince people that Rob Dyrdek is a TV star. Those TV executive sex party pictures Dyrdek has must be pretty wild.

I dunno, I think Rob Dyrdek is pretty charismatic. He's a high energy guy who seems to genuinely enjoy just about everything he does. But Ridiculousness is unquestionably terrible.

You're the Worst was not as fun as last week but still climbed above most tv shows due to it's lovely on Becca, Lindsay wanting to get hosed by everyone with a dick because they both know they married the wrong person. The facial expressions on this show sell pretty much every emotional moment. I am also Paul.

For anyone who decided not to watch the second episode of Boardwalk Empire after the somewhat disappointing premiere last week, the second episode was a pretty nice return to form with plenty of classic Van Alden/Mueller moments

Sober posted:Haven't caught it yet but people thought it was disappointing? I thought it was just typical setup which was just typical Boardwalk Empire, despite the 8 episode final season. Eh, the 7 year time skip between last season and this one was a bit jarring for some of the characters. Plus they're doing childhood flashback scenes for Nucky (who is probably the least interesting character on the show despite essentially being the protagonist) and they got off to a pretty slow start. There's more in-depth commentary and views in the thread.

Z-nation is essentially to good zombie media, what Metal Hurlant Chronicles is to The Twilight Zone ft. Forest Whitaker. Z-nation is The Walking Dead with Down's syndrome, which is already bad considering that the Walking Dead has Alzheimers. Z-nation's only redeeming quality is Garth (Supernatural) who is doing his goddamn best portraying a paper-thin character in a show whose writing was clearly done by a doctor. A doctor Zoidberg, that is. Finally, the dialogue sounds like something you would read on DeviantArt. Is it fun? Only if you hate yourself. /rant.

They've cut their budget to the bone, all so that they could, one day, create great television. Nobody believed in Cinemax, but they toiled day in and day out, digging up the softcorest films ever to feature ten seconds of fake breasts. Today, that strategy has paid off. The funny thing is, though, the only one of those shows that isn't trashy as hell is The Knick. Banshee and Strike Back aren't really that far removed from the poo poo Cinemax made their reputation with, they're just both actually good.

I'm going to regret asking this about Banshee, but this is pretty much the difference between me watching the rest of the show now and me watching it closer to the Season 3 premiere. Did they kill off Siobhan at the end of S2? I heard rumblings about the finale having a brutal ending, and while I'd hate to lose some characters, she's the only one I'd be a little pissed off over losing given the show's somewhat crappy track record with women. Just answer "Yes/No/We Don't Know" please.

The only way I could enjoy it is if I had ALS, and the ALS foundation picked me to do the ice bucket challenge so I could slowly die of hypothermia knowing that I would no longer have to watch Z-nation. Your enjoyment of Z-nation does not qualify it as being entertaining, for all I know, you could be a Z. After watching this show, the only thing I was was Zzzzz. Z-nation is poo poo. American Ninja Warrior is doing their international episode again tonight, and once again the Japanese team is getting thoroughly embarrassed. Of course there is a European team this time that is beating both USA and Japan right now. Do they even air this show in Europe?

Z Nation is an Asylum production. It is exactly as bad as their movies. Whether one likes that or not is not my business, but that's what it is. But don't expect things like plot, characters, good acting, good action, good gore, good anything, or no less than 3 dozen sped up camera transitions. That said, I will watch it because the Sharknado movies are similarly abject garbage but manage to be funny - we shall see if Z Nation does that.

It feels really weird 'cause the Americans never do all that well when they manage to make it to Japan, but then in these shows when they host the events in the US it's the opposite. I guess it's probably because the weird scoring system they use biases the competition in their favor.
