It's because they were beaten as children, and the mental and emotional scars that has left on them can potentially drive them to inflict suffering or desire to see suffering inflicted on others due to a broken sense of what is normal. Or they're something even more twisted, but those are pretty rare. Or they're trying to be edgy, that one's depressingly common. I Killed GBS has a new favorite as of 06:10 on Sep 16, 2014 |

When the reality of course is that he beat the kid with a switch hard enough to cause extensive wounds that needed medical care. Meanwhile they probably think he hit the kid on the butt once with his hand and the PC POLICE swooped in. Not that either scenario is all that great. And yes, there do seem to be people who think that beating your wife is not only good but part of a good marriage since you know, women are basically like children in their minds. Even people who don't think like this didn't seem to have much of a problem with the whole thing (or tried to rationalize it) until they actually saw video footage of what it looks like when a guy knocks his wife out.

They aren't reading the story at all, they just see spanking and get all indignant about it. Not only did he hit him hard enough, multiple times, to cause open wounds on the kid, the switch he used also wrapped around and hit the kid in the balls. He also texted his ex-wife about it. quote:The beating allegedly resulted in numerous injuries to the child, including cuts and bruises to the child's back, buttocks, ankles, legs and scrotum, along with defensive wounds to the child's hands. Peterson then texted the boy's mother, saying that one wound in particular would make her "mad at me about his leg. I got kinda good wit the tail end of the switch." Like goddamn. It's one thing to act all defensive when your are criticized for spanking your kid cause you're too stupid to outsmart your 5 year old, but come the gently caress on! That is clearly child abuse!

^This is also one of the stupid conservative assumptions: Most Catholics only don't eat meat on Fridays during Lent, which is only 40 days out of the year, so like, tops 5 or 6 days a year. And mostly you forget and shrug and go "whatevs". Yes, there are some hardcore super Catholics that don't do the Vatican II stuff, like they still only speak Latin at services, and women still wear veils during church, but this is such a small proportions of Catholics it's very negligible. Which brings me to my point-they presume all Muslims are hardcore super Muslims that would be ENRAGED by something stupid like burying a pig or whatever dumb gris-gris these conservative fucks think will melt their skin off like the Nazis opening the Ark. However, most Muslims are like most Catholics, or really any other large, mainstream religion, in that they don't go out of their way to break their own rules, but if some other rear end in a top hat does it for them to make some rear end in a top hat point, they don't really care aside from the initial "what a dick" reaction. I guess the point of this is to go "Americaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" but seriously, any tiny little bit of thought just makes the guy look like an rear end in a top hat in either case. Either he's an rear end in a top hat because he riles up the angry horde of super Muslims and they carbomb the base and he gets people killed (unlikely) or he's an rear end in a top hat because he is dicking about with the religion of the locals, who are just trying to go about their business. I suppose that's why I posted it. I get a lot of idiots on my Facebook as well, but this one really stood out because it is, quite possibly, the stupidest bit of nationalist dick waggling that I've ever seen. They even do it in Canada alreadyquote:The NHL requires arenas to perform both the Canadian and American national anthems at games that involve teams from both countries.[33] One American team, the Buffalo Sabres, goes a step further and performs both anthems before every game as a nod to Buffalo's location near the Canadian border and the team's substantial number of Canadian fans.[29] Major League Baseball teams have played the song at games involving the Toronto Blue Jays and the former Montreal Expos,[34] and National Basketball Association teams do so for games involving the Toronto Raptors, and previously, the Vancouver Grizzlies. Major League Soccer has the anthem performed at league and Amway Canadian Championship matches involving Toronto FC, Montreal Impact, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
