I've been keeping myself secluded from this game awaiting it to launch. I have a goofy questions I'm hoping someone can answer. Is there dialogue/mechanical differences for low intellect characters a la Fallout 1/2? I am under the impression you control a squad so I'm not sure if being an idiot will have as much effect as with a single main character did.

I played for an hour or so when Early Access first hit and have managed to hold back ever since then. Even skipping over posts from people discussing their characters so that I don't end up using their info to tweak my existing plans for my team... One guy leads. The second member handles machines. The third guy's cool, but rude. The last guy is a party dude

Oh I forgot to explain the Brad McQuaid comment, sorry. My EverQuest-loving buddies and I went to EVERQUEST GATHERING II: ST. LOUIS back in the day (2000?) and made our own names-floating-over-our-heads signs with clear plastic and thin dowel rods. We were the TOAST OF THE TOWN and won free signed stuff galore from the greatly-amused Sony staff for our "costumes." But our pièce de résistance was the extra sign we made for Brad. We presented it to him, smiling, full of hope and love, knowing he would cherish this gift always, and he literally took it from us, stared for a second, set it down behind him, and did not say a single word. So basically, gently caress Brad McQuaid.

The software for making blu-rays/playing blu-ray movies costs more than the drive itself at this point if I remember right.

I backed for a physical copy. IF I open it, I will do so ever so carefully, I will gently peek inside, smell everything, and then close it forever. Meanwhile, Steam will auto-update with my copy. I can resist! I know someone asked this a while back, but I'm running os x on a mac pro, and my video card is a GeForce GT120. The beta is a bit sluggish, does anyone know if the optimization will help my framerate at all?

Quarex, you'd better get a Let's Play going or something, since I need something to listen to (and sort of watch) while I review porn all day That being said, are there any good Wasteland-related podcasts out there? I would also accept a Fallout-based one. And yes, I've listened to the 'Watch out for Fireballs' Fallout episodes.

Well maybe a little bit about Honest Hearts, and definitely about how the collector's edition was lacking in wow-factor compared to 3. I would certainly be wearing my Pip-Boy from the 3 special edition. With the bobblehead dutifully chilling nearby. As the bombs fall. And by "bombs" I mean "chances of finding meaningful employment."

New Vegas probably has, overall, the best content DLC of any game I have ever played. I never got around to playing the DLCs for Oblivion or Skyrim because I always got too bored with the base game before I could get to them.

I hated the game mechanics of the Casino-thing DLC, and it bugged to oblivion so I couldn't finish it, but all the other DLCs are great. Old World Blues is probably the best retro-SF story ever (YMMV).
