I shut it off after an hour or so, just boring. The Dom Irerra one today was pretty good, couple laughs, im almost done with it. Lots of psychedelic talk in the beginning. They are trying to sell some shirts on brian's website during the ad portion of the intro now as well.

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say I "like" Harris, but, if it helps, I'm the opposite of militant regarding foreign policy and have enjoyed what works of his I've read (which, admittedly, is only a couple).

I'd run out of things to talk about.

JRE is the only podcast I don't set to auto-download. 3 long rear end shows a week is more than I have time for, but I like Sam Harris, comedians, and most of the MMA guests. Kreischer, the hunters, that druggie comedian with the annoying voice, and all of the libertarians can all eat a dick though. Joe reminds me of a 16 year old me with his ability to believe anything and speak authoritatively on subjects he really doesn't understand.

The only good JRE episodes are the ones that have older comedians on. I guess I like hearing stories about how the stand up comedy scene was in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. This also applies to Marc Maron's podcast as well.

So apparently Rogan may be talking about #GamerGate in an upcoming podcast, has he said who will be on for it? I was looking around his site, but so far I haven't seen anything about it.

BottledBodhisvata posted:Duncan Trussell is a goddamn national treasure. There's something about him that just really rubs me the wrong way. Can't listen to him. Love Tom Segura, and Rich Vos is great. I think Rogan is at his best when he's getting into social commentary, be it comedy/world affairs/national news, etc. I just don't dig when the podcast becomes MMA-fest and he has to have Eddie Bravo come in and fill the chair. As a long time Howard Stern fan, it's very akin to when Stern has a porn star as a guest on the show. Once they walk in the studio, I normally change the channel since I know that it's a safe bet that they won't have anything really interesting to say, unlike when he has guests like Louis CK, Bryan Cranston, etc. on...then I'm all ears. But when Rogan has Mike Baker, Neil Tyson, Bryan Dunning (huge Skeptoid fan here), Carolla - those are the shows I really look forward to.

I love how Rogan's go-to impression of a dumb close-minded skeptic basically became Brian Dunning after his appearance. That just popped into my head. Oh, also, Joe De Rosa's bare insecurity reminds me of Brody Stevens. Doesn't make good listening. I just can't deal with it maaaan.

It's another one of those instances where a guest thinks aloud, Joe misunderstands and it takes like half an hour to clarify what they were trying to say because Joe talks over the top of them and goes off on tangents.
