We need more beer up here!
I had Duck Rabbit Milk Stout on draft several times in the past couple months and it was great. Of course I made sure to get it on draft because you can't return a six pack and I'm not afraid to send back a bad pint. Regardless, no issues with what I've had from them lately

I have a pretty fucking good palate, passed BJCP and level 2 cicerone which is more than half of you dudes can say, so I don't give a hoot anymore about this toxic community.
I've returned 6 packs, though very very rarely. If there's a problem with the beer I'll usually contact the brewery itself.

What have you heard about Cigar City entering NC? I know we have a poster here that works at the brewery but I can't remember anything being said about them distributing to NC. It would be nice if Westbrook began distribution here as well, but I can definitely put up with the 15 minute drive to SC for a decent selection of their stuff.

For NC beers I would add Foothills Jade IPA if you can find bottles. It's a pretty solid and unique IPA. I would also second NoDa Hop Drop N' Roll if it is possible to find. I think I have been spoiled by being local to the brewery but by the sounds of it it has become increasingly harder to find after the WBC Gold and Citra supply issues.

Cigar City has been rumored for a while, but I haven't heard anything recently.

Any bottles of Jade you find are gonna be old, Foothills hasn't bottled any in a while and don't have plans to bottle it again for a while, unfortunately.

Fulton is one of the breweries in the twin cities I always try to hit up. Expat and Libertine are great brews, not sure why they don't get anywhere near the hype of other regional breweries.

In other legal news, I see that Balast Point recently released a beer called Dead Ringer. I find this humorous because one of the most popular IPA recipes and homebrew kits from Northern Brewer used to be called Three Hearted. Bells must have thought the recipe and name were too close to what they were trying to emulate, and started legal action against Northern Brewer. NB changed the name of the kit... Calling it Dead Ringer.

Assuming they filed the right trademarks, I'm interested to see if they defend it rigorously.

Kudos for humor, but I will actually rise to the bait anyways because I'm a big dumb idiot. I don't know anyone who kept the beer cold post-warning who's had souring problems with Rue D'Floyd. The counterpart beer was absolutely overwhelmed by the rum barrel, but Rue D'Floyd was pretty clearly what it advertised on the label - a big, boisterous beer with a lot of complexity and a lot of interesting notes that come out when you focus on them but harmonize into something tasty.

I'm pretty happy that cigar City has come back to PA... albeit not in a big way.

4 cases of Marshall Zhukov made it to our main distributor in Eastern PA(and 2 went to local places I frequent, but I missed out because they didnt' publicly announce they had em), and a few cases of Big Sound did too... .the markup was a little insane on Big Sound though, as only a bar got it, and they were asking $40/bottle... seems a little steep to me.

Last night, I had the fun of drinking a Funky Buddha Blueberry Cobbler. It was so drat good. Lots of blueberry in the nose, and the first bit of taste, then some cinnamon, followed by some tartness and then an off taste(at first), until I let it warm slightly and it became "oh man, that tastes like cobbler crust"...

My girlfriend and I both loved it. Can't wait to get into the other Funky Buddha stuff I got.

On an unfortunate note, I had an espresso yeti last night... I think I let it sit too long. Tasted really awful.

BA Big Sound? or just the OG? because $40 is absurd for regular Big Sound.

The bourbon barrel one. Admittedly I got one in a trade and have 2 more in the works at Florida retail prices, but when I saw the 40.99 price tag on it.... I passed... had nonbuyer's remorse, went back the next evening and they were sold out.. they also sold all their Zhukov at 19.99 which seems crazy too.

Aces and Ales allows smoking because Vegas. It's a negative, but the bar is pretty big so it's not too hard to find an area that doesn't have anyone smoking. Also, once in a while it's nice to have a cigar.

That's hot news.

Also, if I lived in Vegas I would be used to the smell of menthol after a month or two I reckon, so I doubt it'd bother me much.

After fifteen years here, including six waiting tables in the smoking section of a lovely locals' casino, I still notice and dislike it. Then again I'm asthmatic so I may be a little more conscious of what I breathe than most. As far as smoke concentration is concerned, Aces is pretty low on the spectrum - mostly due to their high ceilings and decent A/C system.

The Cagnac Barrel Aged Quad was nice, sherry BA saison was slightly too sweet for my liking but put it down to sherry BA, dry hopped flanders was nice and sour but couldnt really pick up the dry hops. :)

^^ Speaking of Siren, recently tried the Siren/Mikkeller/HF Limoncello and that beer is so far out there. The aroma is lemon peely then it has a sharp tart zingy lemonade flavor profile. Not sure if I'd call it an IPA, but still quite delicious and I'd prefer it over a radler/shandy.
