Bonus schadenfreude: after Ventura was thrown out of the game for starting the fight, White Sox manager Gene Lamont argued that Ryan should also be ejected, to the point that Lamont got himself ejected. Ryan finished the game without giving up another base hit.

Surely the pitcher didn't hit him by accident, though? Wasn't he starting the fight by pegging the guy with a ball? (disclaimer: I know nothing about baseball)

It certainly didn't look deliberate. It appeared to be an inside breaking ball that got away from him and hit the batter in the butt. When Ryan wanted to hit someone he threw a fastball at his head.

Only that late in his career did Nolan Ryan have the control to not hit people on purpose.

.

So I worked in two different bakeries when I was a teenager for a total of about 4 years and I can tell you that we did indeed sell "half decorated" cakes with little frosting pipers so people could decorate them themselves. However, it was usually just a plain white frosted cake and I can't think of a single time we didn't border it. So while this idiot is certainly lying about decorating this cake, its not out of the realm of possibility that what he's describing does exist. But doing the boarders was always pretty hard the first time and there is no way those were done by some one that hadn't done it several times before.

Cake chat in this thread!

edit:
I would also love the time stamps of these texts because in my mind that "Loves itt!!!" came like 10 minutes later.

Yeah that sort of cake exists, it's typically pre-iced and bordered and you have the tube of frosting to draw dickbutt write a message or whatever on the top.

I said this in the stupid ads thread, but all Samsung needs to do to win the smartphone wars is to run a campaign showing all the great ROMs available on XDA. They're too interested in being like Apple to give up on touchwiz and just ship the phone blank with a card directing users to XDA but if they did, everyone with half a brain would switch overnight.

My coworker is a huge linux nerd, and I'm a pretty big general nerd, so when he goes phone shopping he asks me about how I jailbroke my phone. He was very surprised to hear I hadn't, because why bother?

A few days later he tells me he jailbroke his phone. "Cool", quoth I, "what can you do with it now?"

He replies "well, nothing I couldn't already. I looked over the catalogs of apps and there's nothing I need :saddowns:". Schadenfreude: he later bricked his new phone loving with it for no reason.
