What about Jolt... or was it volt? I just remember it was a red can and had yellow and white lettering and it tasted like Coke. Only it had twice the caffeine of other cola's.

I have low expectations for how 'good' surge will taste. It's purely for nostalgic reasons I would get some. Jolt was bitching and drinking it had a total placebo effect on making you feel like a badass.

These days soft drinks are limited to the occasional hecho en Mexico coca cola and bundaberg soft drinks (ginger beer, peachee, lemon lime and bitters).

I still buy Ranch Corn Nuts sometimes when I'm hungover.

My friend and I would cover a flour tortilla in butter, sugar and cinnamon, then toast it in the oven and eat it rolled up like some kind of churro. Then we'd play Rogue Spear or Tony Hawk while jacked on sugar. We actually made some again not too long ago (while drunk) for nostalgia's sake, and they were even more loving delicious than I remembered.

I came across this picture today. It's my uncle in 1954 sitting in the car he bought while underage after lying to a bank in order to convince them to loan him $16,500 to buy it. He then dropped out of Yale and spent a time in hiding from his father and racing the car.

My grandfather eventually tracked him down though. Having found my uncle and discovering this purchase, and the subsequent loan, refused to pay for the car, and being that my uncle was not old enough to sign a contract, the bank could not collect.

Unfortunately my uncle has since passed away and I do not know what happened to the car. He was considerably older than my father, roughly 15 years, and was a notorious playboy.

Anyway, try to guess the car. It took me a bit but I'm pretty sure I've got it.

I've always shot Nikon since I moved to DSLRs (about 7 years ago). Most of my friends shoot with Nikon as well.

It's mostly personal preference though. The only thing that bugs me about Nikon is they've dropped the focus motor from the bodies on their lower end stuff, forcing you to purchase a more expensive version of lenses with a built-in motor (AF-S instead of AF). I think Canon has always had the motor in the lens?

Yeah, it's a lot easier to use the phone for everyday photos. If I want decent photo quality I break out the DSLR (which is pretty much always with me), but most stuff doesn't require more than a potato camera.

So I just opened the USAA app on my phone, and got a :tinfoil: warning in it.

It's right hand drive, so won't be an Alfa. Going to be British, like an Aston Martin or Jaguar. However I can not find any Jags or A-Ms of that area that looks like that car. The front drum brakes tells me it probably isn't a Jag, as they jumped on the disc brakes wagon soon after World War 2.

Yes, he was. He used those skills for a time working for Anheuser-Busch, in marketing, specifically for the Busch beer division. There he coined the slogan "Head for the mountains" and was instrumental in the creation of the Busch racing league. He then left Anheuser to run a racing team. Anyway, I guess if you can convince people to drink Busch beer then you're also the kind of guy who can convince a bank to loan a 17 year old kid $145,000 to buy a race car. Mind you he was also attending Yale (in his second year) when this happened. He was quite brilliant.

It's definitely British, which makes ID kinda tough since there was so much cottage industry in automobile manufacturing. The car itself is of a small run, I believe around 25 of them where made. The picture alone should have enough information to figure it out.

I had a look at a couple of photos of a modified Jaguar XKSS, and it almost fits that car, especially the rear wheel arches. However on that modified XKSS only the driver had a windscreen (Right Hand Drive) and the passenger and driver were separated by a bulkhead.

I just got back from a drat good vacation. Spent a week at an all-inclusive in the DR. I've never been to that part of the world before, and never done an all-inclusive before. What a blast. The biggest concern I had all week was "what is my alcoholic beverage of choice today?"

From the beach:

Buggy excursion though nasty cow poop roads

Decent sushi

Excellent rum and cigars

G&T whilst doing activities

brother-in-law firing up a Cuban (which he paid a hilarious amount for)

Me and wifelady with no feet

What a good time. We stayed at the Barcelo Bavaro in Punta Cana. It wasn't exactly elegant and it was MASSIVE, but the rooms were great, the drinks were strong, and the food was endless.

Also, it seems my GoPro captures have sharpened twice. I don't feel like redoing them so you get extra-sharp fisheye photos.

drat that was a long day. I love traveling but at the same time I really hate traveling. Woke up Monday at 4:30am (EST), didn't get to my hotel until noon today. Was going to be getting in later (and getting $1200 for taking a later flight) but they stuck me back on at the last minute. Got my rental upgraded since they were out of micro cars. Ended up with a Ford C-Max (http://www.ford.co.uk/Cars/C-MAX), at least it's a manual. Got pulled over by a couple officers for a random check since I appeared suspicious and was in a rental car. German cops are pretty chill once they figure out you're just completely loving lost.

But now I have a couple beers in me and a massive helping of Indian food so everything is ok. Germany is again pretty cool, trying to decide if I can afford another Ring weekend.
