SR3 and SRIV are still fun enough games, but the switch in tone from "open world gang warfare with a bunch of absurd humor" to "LOL WE'RE SO WACKY, CHECK OUT ALL THESE REFERENCES TO OTHER GAMES AND THINGS" kinda ruined the series for me.

I played SR3 because it was free on PS+ and I enjoyed it enough to finish it, but the wackiness seemed very forced at times. The whole LOL BIG PURPLE DILDO LOL attitude is some Duke Nukem Forever level comedy.
I've read 4 has a mission that 'parodies' Metal Gear Solid by having you sneak around in a cardboard box. That's not parody, that's just doing a thing Metal Gear does. It's a [genre] Movie parody (i.e. a reference).

The dubstep gun was lame too, it was much funnier when Ratchet and Clank did the same joke in 2007.

Not to say the game didn't have good parts, I loved the character customization and being able to play as a fat goth Hispanic lady.

The triple embarrassments of that, Homefront and PS4/360 uDraw was the end.

Red faction was originally about Martian miners. The RF1 and RF2 were pretty fun at the time. With destructive terrain you were able to shoot rockets till you made a tunnel reaching another room. If they went back and remade those, polishing up everything plus combine it with the destructive building physics maybe it would have been awesome.

No sorry GTAIV/GTAV/SR2/SR3/SR4/RDR is an objectively good/bad game and you are objectively right/wrong for agreeing/disagreeing.

The first one, yea.

SR2 was awesome though. loving INSANE storyline, amazing voice actors, characters that sing along with the radio, it was a hell of a game.

SR3 and 4 were decent but didn't have that "cold as hell" boss that you did NOT want to gently caress with like SR2 did. Still, in 4 you have the crackdown esque "Oh, an orb, lemme get it, oh, another orb, lemme get it, what the gently caress where did the last 3 hours of my life go?"

I loved GTA5 as well. It was the only GTA game I've actually bothered to complete because the storyline was good, I enjoyed seeing where the hell I was going to wake up as Trevor, and the city was awesome. Spent most of my time shooting rockets at cougars though, cause gently caress them. They and their families need to pay for what they did to John Marsten back in RDR.

Point is, if they remade SR2 I'd be in it just for the ps4 and the INSANE amount of people they would have onscreen during a pimp riot.

I'm already buying the remake for GTA5. I'd buy one for RDR as well.

Like I said, I feel like I'm missing all the amazing stuff in the GTAV world that other people say. Other than driving through the (admittedly really nice) countryside and shooting random people, I can't think of anything else to do in the game really. At least stuff I'd want to do and not Yoga Minigame or Relatively Good Golf Minigame.

People keep going on about GTAV's world but I guess I'm missing something because it felt empty. There was almost nothing to do in it even compared to GTASA which like a decade earlier. It isn't even about monkey-cheese humor it is that it had a gigantic amazing world with nothing to do in it and exploring a video game world with no possibility of discovery kinda doesn't hold much interest to me.

I can see why other people find the humor and references of SR 3/4 to be extremely grating, but as someone who grew up in the 80s and early 90s they scratch a very particular itch for me. If I had been drinking milk during the strip club scene where Simply Irresistible started playing, it would have surely come spraying out of my nose.

I seriously thought the part at the end where you put on the power armour and Touch starts playing in the background was loving awesome.

On the remake of GTA5 there's the possibility it will be SO HIGH RES and SO AWESOME that we will be able to COUNT THE KERNELS OF CORN in that poo poo mission.

That is how high tech and overpowered the ps4 is, and I can't wait for november.

Don't really see how anyone can say Saints Row IV had "monkey cheese" humor. Yeah, it's really referential a lot of the time, but it's not Borderlands 2 level comedy.

This is coming from someone who really loved SRIV though, and thought it was the best game of 2013. So I guess I'm a little biased.

There's not really a major difference between the two. The things people dislike about Borderlands 2 are the weird referential jokes that are memes or having you fight the ninja turtles or whatever. SRIV is in a pretty similar territory, just with text adventures and Mass Effect jokes.

I actually beat SRIV at my girlfriend's house and she was so confused/intrigued, she asked me to roll another character so that she could try to understand the full story. The romance options were probably one of the funniest parts for her.

It's pretty dope.
I remember playing the first Saints Row and thinking it was great and that the next GTA should play like it. The story and universe was terrible but the gameplay was tight. I remember being so disappointed in Saints Row 2. It was cheap dogshit compared to the original but some people loved the "wacky zany" aspect.

Is the LAN connection on the PS4 absolutely terrible or does Charter throttle gaming systems now? Through two routers and even an extender, I can't get anymore than 10mbps down and I'll be lucky to get that even. Wifi got me as much as 4mbps supposedly but Destiny was unplayable and Netflix didn't work much at all. I have since moved my system next to the router and ran a 3ft cable to it hoping that would improve it but this thing seems capped at 10mbps. I've got 60mbps internet.

My only problem with SRIV now is that I've been playing too much Infamous lately and I don't remember the controls and using DS3 to play it on PS3 sucks. The remaster will be a day one purchase for me. Do we know if they'll let you transfer save states?

Thanks. Ironically, LBP was one of my least favorite platformers in the past decade. Always felt too floaty to me, and because of the openness of its physics engine, puzzles and such wouldn't work every time.

Edit: I liked all of the Ratchet and Clank games, but looking at the most recent iteration as well as the sales, I expect that series to be ended.

LBP3 apparently has much less floaty physics than the previous games. Also, there's a total remake of the original Ratchet and Clank in development for PS4.

Haha, coincidentally, I am also not a LBP fan. I brought it up because it was the only big name platformer coming exclusively to the PS4 that I could think of. I am sure there will be some indie platformers coming, but I would think that pretty much everything that falls under the category of 'platformer' will be coming to the WiiU like you mentioned earlier.

Do play much else besides platformers? There will be plenty of PS4 exlcusives/stuff you cant play on the WiiU coming out but if platformers are your main jam, PS4 might not be where its at for you.
